I thought I had read somewhere about a solution for this, but I'll be damned if I can find it now. I have an older MCUmall GQ-4X programmer. I can burn the 27128's just fine, but the burner does not seem to have a device listing for the 256's. Is there a workaround for this? I've tried selecting what I thought was "close", but to no avail; just fails after writing 1%.

What is "close" to M5L27256?

I don't recall having issues with my GQ-4X and 27256 ERPOMs. However, double check the Vpp for the "close" device is 12.5V (this is the correct Vpp voltage for the M5L27256K, but double check the exact part number you have).

I presume the EPROMS are verified blank?

That was it; my voltage setting for some reason was not 12.5v. Weird. Looks to be all good now. Thank you very much.
