I've been ordering a lot of parts and other general restoration items for my burgertime cab and will have ~$600 into it by the end of the process. Just to help justify my spending to my fiance, how much would you say a well restored BT could go for if we ever chose to sell it?

Thanks!

You tell her it is priceless and to shut her mouth! And she's just a fiance, just wait till she's the wife! No really, you should end one of your projects, and it ain't Burgertime! ZING!

Not too many restored ones out there. I would guess that with a new cpo, stencils and kick plate art as well as a bezel and marquee that is in good shape. I dont think you found new ones of those. The range would be 400-800 depending on the area and the person buying. There is a possibility of getting more than 8 from the right buyer. Just not likely.

The only part missing is a monitor bezel. Have everything else, even the grail NOS CPO. I think if the buyer wasn't on KLOV, we could ad $300 to your estimate haha. I've noticed everyone here shares the same cheap-ass trait.

I am not a cheap ass. Look what they have sold for lately. The new one for 2200$ is a pipe dream IMO.

Didn't mean to be offensive, as I am on KLOV too, but nonetheless, It will be a fully restored machine, new side are at all. No tired/faded parts, all in new condition. I honestly think it would do better than ~$600. I agree $2200 is crazy, but I don't think $800 is.

I personally wouldn't pay more than $400. But I won't pay more than that for any game - no matter how nice.

You might get a decent price from someone who really wants one - but the days of getting more than 800 or so out of a stand alone game are long gone. And the game would basically have to be factory sealed NOS IMO to get 800 in this age of multi-games.

You did not offend me at all. No problem here. There was a restored one that sold on ebay recently for 1000$. It had a 60 n 1 board in it though. So I would not consider it a restored BT but a restored BT cab with a multi in it. To me and you that devaluates it but to others, it seems to add a little value. Have not seen any other restored ones actually sell lately. I kind of watch for these. I am always looking for a nicer example of games I already have.

Piss off - hope that offends someone - gah

Burgertime in a completely restored Minty package could command $800.00 to a person that has this on their grail list and all they have to do is plug it in and play it.
If you buy one that has screen burn (typical) side art and kick plate scratched (typical) and the CPO is worn (typical) do the math and now add your time to restore it. That $800 price tag looks pretty damn good to me. I've restored 5 machines now and it takes NOTHING to add $500 to a full on restoration. Now add that to the initial purchase price.

Sadly too many people think that replacing a CPO and/or marquee is restoring and automatically makes it worth a mint. Phet restores and makes them look new again - that right there makes his machines fall into a category of their own. My father always said, "It only takes one buyer" and "You can always come down in price but you can't go back up" and how true both those statements are. start high - come down if needed. It only takes one person to buy it. You have nothing but time right?

I think I would pay $900 for KillerKade's restored BT, if I didn't already have one. Now that was a restoration. I agree though, nobody seems to realize how much work *truly* restoring one of these stencilled cabs really is. The prep time alone is staggering.

Right on, got what I needed, I'll tell the lady it'll fetch $800-$1000!

The fact of the matter is that I'm doing it as a hobby and think the BT cab is one of the sexiest designed, so with that, I don't think I'll sell it less it means food for the future kids haha!

Tell her whatever you need to to leave you alone. A well restored BT looks really nice IMO

I would think a restored BT could get up to $800 even in this market. Probably won't fly out the door though. When times were a bit better maybe a year or two ago, I saw one sell at auction for $400 I believe and another on ebay for $500. These were both nice condition originals with some wear. Not restored at all.

I am STILL looking for a Burgertime. At this point I would prefer a project that I can re-stencil. I would pay more than $1000 for one in perfect shape. Other than that $350 to $800 seems to be the going rate in my area.
