My Burgertime restoration is nearing completion. When checking the date of my first picture, this project started on Oct 11th. Well nearly three months later, it is finally coming to an end and has been well worth it. Here is somewhat of a picture essay of the progress. Sorry for all the pics, but I documented this with tons of pics from start to finish. And I wanted to get the award for the longest restoration thread
It started by sanding the entire cabinet due to fairly bad paint peeling and cracking.
Next came some corner and edge repair.
Well by this time winter finally set in and I moved the cabinet to the back part of the warehouse at work so activities could continue. This is where the painting began. First a couple coats of primer to seal the newly sanded wood.
Next several coats of the base "mustard" color was applied.
Now came time for the stencils. I also might add, applying stencils is a real pain in the ass, but after looking at the finished product I guess a bit of suffering was acceptable.
Now it was time to start peeling off the final stencil layer.
Next add the t-molding and the front graphic.
Now all that remains is to take it home and put all the parts back in the cabinet, wait for a new run of CPOs, and play till my hearts content. Hope you enjoyed the visual stimulation!
Final result = a Minty Fresh Burgertime.
