My Burgertime restoration is nearing completion. When checking the date of my first picture, this project started on Oct 11th. Well nearly three months later, it is finally coming to an end and has been well worth it. Here is somewhat of a picture essay of the progress. Sorry for all the pics, but I documented this with tons of pics from start to finish. And I wanted to get the award for the longest restoration thread

It started by sanding the entire cabinet due to fairly bad paint peeling and cracking.

Next came some corner and edge repair.

Well by this time winter finally set in and I moved the cabinet to the back part of the warehouse at work so activities could continue. This is where the painting began. First a couple coats of primer to seal the newly sanded wood.

Next several coats of the base "mustard" color was applied.

Now came time for the stencils. I also might add, applying stencils is a real pain in the ass, but after looking at the finished product I guess a bit of suffering was acceptable.

Now it was time to start peeling off the final stencil layer.

Next add the t-molding and the front graphic.

Now all that remains is to take it home and put all the parts back in the cabinet, wait for a new run of CPOs, and play till my hearts content. Hope you enjoyed the visual stimulation!

Final result = a Minty Fresh Burgertime.

Absolutely awesome Big Kev. That is the best Stencil Job I have yet seen from one of us. BT is actually my last 'Must Have' game, so if you find another one, you know who to contact. Damn that's nice. I like your series of pics showing the various stages. Sweet.

Thanks for the kind words sir. A damn long process but well worth the effort. I will keep on the lookout for a BT as well.

Kevin, you have definitely become my hero. I just looked at the pics again a few minutes ago and fainted from pure bliss. I decided to give you props a second time now that I have come to.

*PERFECTION*

Wow that is nice.

So did you spray the Mustard and roll the rest?

The primer and mustard were both sprayed. I started to spray the white but the air would begin to lift the stencil so I opted to foam roll the stencil colors. If I did it again, I may opt to try airbrushing the stencils but I would still be concerned that the air would lift the stencil.

What I did not show was me with a fine set of art paint brushes trying to get nice crisp lines from the stencils and to fix some of the seep that happened.

Run, Kevin. Far far away. Swimfan is here.

That looks fantastic! What product did you use as the primer coat, and how well did it work?

No Kevin, come back! Deep breaths, easy big guy, easy. Johnny Jealouspants just doesn't understand our 'arrangement' and it's killing him. Don't be swayed by his nonsense. I'll be at your doorstep by closing time today, got a place for me to crash?

Would someone do me a favor and attach the images? I can't see them because I'm at work and the links are apparently to a site that's blocked. Otherwise I can just check it out this evening.

Thanks,
Wade

Beautiful job there! How long did you have to wait between doing each color of the stencils?
