How is Burgertime on the 60 in 1? Is it one of the decent emulations like Ms. Pac and Galaga? Or is it too far off from the real thing? Worst-case scenario planning here...

Its a fairly decent emulation all things considered.
The sprites are a little off (just slightly) and the sounds are off a little.
Character movement is pretty spot on though.
When you start levels your opponents (eggs, sausage, pickles) very much move in the same directions and manner they do on an actual PCB. For instance, when you first start any given level the character go a certain way (which is the same on the emulated version and actual PCB).

If your thinking about putting a 60-1 board (set just to Burgertime) in a Burgertime cab until you find an actual PCB is a pretty close substitute for the time being.
I dont know if thats why your asking or not, but I would have no issue doing it until I found an actual PCB.

Burgertime on the icade 60-1 sucks the sound emulation is off and it has an annoying squeal too it. I guess maybe you can get use to it. But I never have.

The sounds for Burger Time are off, but the game plays well. Also note that the copyright information was removed from the game.

Honestly, if the copyright information was left for all the games, I would dig the 60 in 1 quite a bit more.

Galaga doesn't have the feeling of smooth fluid movement that I get from playing on an actual board.

I agree on the ArcadeSD. I have one in a Galaga/Ms Pac reunion cabinet and Burger Time seems accurate. Granted, I am not a purist but it seems spot on. I owned a 60-1 at first and got rid of it because of the terrible emulation.

I wouldn't agree that the Galaga emulation on a 60 in 1 is decent - just my two cents.

This.

When the player's ship explodes, it sounds like... I don't even know how to describe the horrid sound properly.

I wouldn't have know 'til I got a dedicated Galaga then I was like "hey, wait a minute" :)

I'm sure Burgertime is the same way - I'm happy with it on my 60 in 1 and that will last right up until I play the real thing :)

So if Burgertime is your game, and you want it perfect, you will need that PCB (eventually)

I love this hobby! haha
