Hey y'all! I have a burgertime that is in great shape and operates great. It was in storage for a little while and ever since I brought it out, I can't get the screen to stop scrolling horizontally. I tweak the pot ever so slightly back and forth. I can get it to slow but never stop. If I over correct or under correct it speeds up. Just can't get it to settle down and stay put. Any tips? Maybe replace the pot? Is there another adjustment I should be looking at? I'm adjusting the VHold pot as it's a vertical monitor. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Try the monitor repair forum. Lots of info there.

Thank you to the admin that moved this post. I was just getting ready to delete it and repost.

helpful tip: post pictures of your monitor, or if you know what it is, share the model.

I've never worked on Burgertime, I would be inclined to believe it uses composite sync, but maybe it's H+V. if it is H+V, meaning you have 2 sync wires running to the monitor, and the vertical sync wire has a break somewhere, you will have an endless vertical roll you can't adjust out. I also believe many of those came with K4900s, but if it has a G07 instead and there's 1 sync wire going to the monitor, that will make it endlessly roll, as G07s need composite sync fed to bother vertical and horizontal sync pins. I found a G07 last week where someone got crafty and just solder bridged the 2 sync pins together. I thought that was so amusing I didn't even bother correcting it.

Thank you! I'll look into that tomorrow and see if I can get a good pic. Everything you said makes sense so hopefully, It's something I can fix and get it up and running. Such a great game.

ah yes... that was a thing then too. never had the blessing of fighting one of those.
Such a strange monitor - the frame has a wood shelf! I had the pleasure of recapping mine - it was a pain in the rear.

I don't remember the wood shelf with those. the K4500 I'd forgotten was mounted the same way and looks straight out of the dark ages. I know a guy with a Galaxian with one of those and much to my shock it actually works. those delta tubes are the stuff of nightmares come to life. there's guys on youtube that deal in vintage TVs from the 60s with those kinds of tubes and the sounds they put out are both awesome and horrific to my ears.

Bumping this very old thread because I am having the same issue with the 4900 in my BurgerTime. It will stay still for some time, then start scrolling.

Would the best place to start be to replace the pot?

Thanks for your help.
