This is a FYI for anyone should you see these symptoms in your Burgertime or other midway game using this original style PS.

I had this slight wave on my monitor that appeared to cause the ladders on the screen to seem like they were flickering..that is best way to describe it..nothing else seems to be effected graphically that I could visually see..didn't really effect the play too much but I drove myself crazy trying to figure out what caused it.

The following were things I thought might be the cause...
Bad ground
monitor issue
marquee light
board issue

Turns out that the power supply (Original Midway Wicket style) was SLOWLY shitting the bed. Tonight it just quits when I turn the game on...so I didn't feel like putting in a switcher and luckily had a spare original P.S. that I rebuilt...Put it in and Shazam! Perfect screen and no wave...I was like WTF...why didn't I think of that before..

Hope to save you the trouble that I went through...

Now I have two original Midway PS to rebuild...and also an Atari ARII board that needs rebuilt...since a resistor fried..

I blamed the wave on a failing power suppy before, but I don't think anyone believed me. I fixed the wave with a new power supply as well. Most people just start changing caps on the monitor chasis. This is sometimes the case with jamma games that use 15a switchers too.

What made it hard to diagnose is that the game still worked find and all the power tested good...I guess the slight fluctuations as it slowly went bad is what causes the wave but makes it hard to determine that its actually the PS.....well I have a weekend project...I have like three of these power supplies to rebuild..they are pretty reliable once you rebuild them...Luckily I picked up some rebuild kits with a while back from Bob Roberts..so I'm good to go.
