Hi, I've just tried to get my BT light going, with no luck. I put an 18" 15 watt bulb in (there was none previously) and I also changed the starter. I got no light or reaction at all. Any ideas/help? I've never dealt with thus before. Thanks!

first step is meter the wires going to the fixture to check for proper voltages

if you are getting 110-120 v at the fixture then just go to wally world and buy a new fixture for 7$
or if you want to stay original look to see if you can find a new ballast at home depot

Ballasts can be measured to determine if they are good. They should measure about 26-ohms betweeen the two wires coming from it. Anything way low will cause the bulb to flash quickly and blow, and anything way high will not allow the bulb to light.

If it's way high and you already bought a bulb and starter, then a new ballast can be gotten from HD for $6.99. Get the 5-15-25 ballast...

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I'm getting readings of 12 volts to the fixture, and I replaced the ballast with no luck. Any suggestions?

what voltage are you getting at the power cables going into the fixture
You mean the plug from the cab to the light, right? that's what i'm talking about. The cable coming right from the cab is giving me around 12 volts. I replaced the ballast, bulb, and starter with 15 watt stuff but still nothing.
