Well, its been several years since I've gotten a good score on a cabinet i want to restore.
The morning of August 28th I stumbled across these two machines for sale on Facebook marketplace for a really reasonable price. Me and my good buddy Josh ended up driving a little over 2 hours one way to go get these.
They supposedly worked but had been sitting for 8 years. Luckily we had a chance to plug them in. Mine ended up having an arcing flyback transformer, and wouldn't show picture. His fired up, but had HORRIBLE collapse in every direction and every color was completely out of whack. We loaded them up, secured them and hauled them back to our hometown.
Here is the pictures from that day we purchased them, including the for sale pictures.
NOTE: This restoration documentation will primarily be on only my machine.
You can notice on the photo below that mine still has an un-faded right side of the cabinet!!!!
Here is a photo of us after we had gotten them back to his storage unit at around 11pm,
We gave them a quick damp paper towel wipe down, and had to pose like the infamous LIFE Magazine photo!
A week later, I returned to my buddy's storage unit to grab my Mortal Kombat so I could haul it to my storage and moderately work on it and start working on the monitor and rebuilding and recapping items. During this trip, I also decided to remove the Hantrarex Polo 25" monitor from it. I also decided to snap some more pictures of it.
