Bulk/group buy on Atari cocktail glass? (potential deal here)

I've been trying to get a decent deal on replacement glass for my Atari (Asteroids) cocktail (I believe Centiped, et. al. would have the same dimensions). Local prices range anywhere from $100 to $150, depending on quality, etc., and are generally just too high for my liking.

I was able to find some decent deals online, but shipping is pretty killer. I contacted one promising company (www.onedayglass.com) about shipping options, but was told I could only use standard shipping options ($31 minimum).

HOWEVER, I also asked if they would cut a deal on a bulk order and I got the following:

"Andy-
Yes we would definitely work with you on the price of the glass if you ordered 5 or more pieces and obviously the S&H would be spread out over each piece which would help as well. Let me know if you have any other questions or would like to place an order. Thanks."

The base price (single unit price) for tempered, clear, 31.75" x 23.75", 3/16" thick glass with 0.5" radius curved corners and penciled edges is $63.13--therefore the bulk buy price would be less than $63 per piece of glass. That price does NOT include shipping of $31, which will also be adjusted down, depending on destination ZIP code.

Any interest? Please say yes :)

Update:

Here are the quoted prices--
Qty 1-4) $63.13 each
Qty 5-9) $56.00 each
Qty 10-19) $51.00 each
Qty 20+) $46.00 each

If you live close to Vancouver, WA, you could pick yours up without any S&H. For the rest of us it would range from $27 to $37. At 20+ quantity that's about $40-50 cheaper than I could find it locally, even with shipping.

I may be interested in one, but I wonder if they realize they are shipping to multiple addresses? They may be offering the bulk price based on shipping to one address.

Also, has anyone ordered from them that can verify quality?

I'm thinking about emailing a couple of other online shops to see if they can beat this deal. I will say that onedayglass has been *very* responsive via email, so my first impression of them is good.

Results may very but.... I went to a local glass shop with my pacman cocktail glass and had him make/order me a replacement because mine had lots of scratches. Used good quality glass and I ended up just paying cost on the glass. Came out perfect. Ran me 30 bucks, I believe it would have been double he said but I'm friends with his family. 60 bucks sounds like fair pricing but with the shipping it's pushing you to over 90 bucks. You sure you can't get anyone local to make you one for less? Or did I finally find something arcade related in my town that's not ridiculously over priced? Ignore my post if Atari cocktail glass is fundamentally different then a pacman table glass.

I can't find anything local that's tempered for less than $80 (non finished edge at that price).

To give perspective: I've called about 8 different places ranging from glass specialty shops, to framers to auto glass. Typically I get "we'll have to order that" when I mention tempered glass...Some can't do the curved edges. Annealed glass would be much cheaper, but I don't feel confident about that option.

Of course, I'm not in a large city, so that may be part of it.

Well looks like you put your time in on this so where you are this is a good deal for you. I had to wait a couple weeks cuz the edges are rounded and it was tempered. I believe the business name was Knox glass if I remember right, they do a lot of commercial work for local businesses and such. looks like eBay has replacement glass for PAC and galaga tempered for 57 bucks plus shipping so I'm guessing I'm pretty close on the 60 retail mark. I would gladly go talk to him to strike up a deal but I'm guessing mailing lots of plates of glass all over the country would be a headache considering how I see packages handled by ups and FedEx everyday. Best of luck to you and show some pics of your cocktail once you get that new glass on.

The single unit quote is $63.13 without shipping (via onedayglass), so I would agree that there are likely others who can get it for that price locally. In fact, if you're close by in WA you can even pick up from onedayglass w/out S&H.

I emailed a couple of other places and either got back "we can't match that" or no response at all, so it looks like this may be the best deal in town for some of us.

Anyone else interested?
