Did you try the third link at the bottom?

I have a Super Nova I should set up too as a test rig. Does anyone know where there is an online manual?

That was very observant of you, D, to notice the link in my sig and then follow to the videos...Good stuff! Thanks for pointing it out to the rest too.

You're looking for the Super Nova manual? Or just a general supergun manuel?

I have exactly the same thing as in this auction.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/160641948554

It was given to me by a friend over 5 years ago. The audio section of one of his expensive PCBs was "fried" and the PCB's manufacturer blamed it on the SuperNOVA. So basically I ended up with the SuperNOVA system. Personally, I think that the PCB's manufacturer was full of crap and the PCB itself was defective, but my friend didn't want to take any chances, so I've had it gathering dust since, not knowing whether to sell it or trade it.

I never thought about using it because the control layout doesn't work for me. (Especially since I'm right handed). But using it as a test rig is an idea.

I just need to reacquaint myself with what it can do and all of the pin-outs.

Thanks.

Holy Crap these things go for $400!!! I'm in business! I will be making another one soon, and if I sell it for $400 it'll put a smile on my face.

Does anyone know where I can find a detailed manual?

This link is all I could find, and outside of the 8-pin female connection (and of course a JAMMA edge connector) it doesn't seem to correlate to what I have.

http://www.arcade4home.com/

There is a straight 8-pin housing (at the end of six leads) that I'm unfamiliar with. (See pic below).

Thanks.

Darren,
Crack it open and trace the leads back to their origins. That way you'll be sure which pin is which. Is it possible to open?

That only works if you know what the "origins" are supposed to be.

And that Ebay seller, who initially wanted me to send the SuperNova to him to repair doesn't want to give me the pin-outs. (It may be working perfectly, but I still need the pin-outs).

I have no idea what that is or where you see that in the diagram, but the brown connector appears to be connected to both of the other control outputs.

The PCB inside says "MAS Systems: RGB to NTSC Converter". So the circular 8-pin and the yellow output connectors on the far left of the outside of the cabinet appear to be two different kinds of video outputs.

Darren,
I am pretty sure the circular 8-pin connector is for PAL output (European use only), and the audio/video component connectors are NTSC output (US use only). I could be wrong though. Other than that 8-pin connector, you have a very basic Supergun.

Are you referring to the circular 8-pin connector or the brown 8-pin connector?

D,

I am pretty sure the circular 8-pin connector is for PAL video output.

The brown 8-pin connector is a red, green, blue, ground, sync connector for arcade chassis input only.

The 3 audio/video component connectors are for televisions -- they are the 3 (yellow, red, and white) connectors to the right of the circular 8-pin connector.

If I were you, I would plug in a game board to the JAMMA connector, plug in component connectors into audio/video connections, and turn it on.

More likely the circular output is S-Video, which is still most likely NTSC, not PAL. If it was meant for Euro, might as well have just used SCART, which is RGB native from what I'm reading.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-video

Can't help you with the other one at all. ;)

*edit* It's right there listed on the auction. DUH!!!

For those international buyers who want an SCART cable instead of the composite video/s-video, an 8pin Din SCART cable can be installed instead no additional cost. 220v or 110v systems are available.

lol :)

Good work Sherlock, but where's the Queens jewels? Lol...nice stuff Frax.

The DUH was at me for not checking that first, btw...since he had posted it right there and everything. :p
