I hope I'm posting this in the right place, I'm not looking to buy/sell/trade, just get some info on IF I should buy lol. Someone near me has a Zaxxon for sale (pix are below). I've never seen this game before (being the new guy, I know it's a common one though). Should I pick it up? What all work restorative wise do you think I would need (obviously we dont know how the inside looks right now). He's asking 250 OBO, IDK if that's fair or not. Thanks for any input guys!

I made an initial offer, which I know he won't take, but I gotta start somewhere, especially since I've gotta drive 2 hrs for it :p

Play it in MAME first. I love the game, but it isn't for everybody. There are probably a lot more people that hate that particular game.

I'd also say $150-200 max though, maybe $250 if it is as nice as the pics make it appear, but somehow I'd wager it has had a quickie restoration done (ie paint on the front, in the very least). I hate half-assed restored games.

W/in the year you will be trying to sell it for something else,

+1 to that, even though i wouldnt mind having it so i could get my ass kicked again. But i to would sell it in 6 months cause i couldnt beat it,BUT it'd be a good experience for the guy.

+1, if not it being Zaxxon, but because you've never even played the game.

Make a list of games you like and work from there. You're gonna wind up with a lot of unwanted wood just grabbing whatever shows up.

id hold off on the zaxxon....

the game plays great on most of the multi boards out there anyway.

within another week or two you will find something that much better than zaxxon. DONT DO IT@!@!

amen brother. i started that way, just grabbing everything in sight. constantly buying and selling shit you don't like gets old. i've got my mental list, and at this point only collect stuff that's gonna be a keeper.

you could get a congo bongo pcb and toss it in there as well. (I think it's compatible.)

one of my big issues was I wasn't a big arcade guy growing up. We only had 1-2 places in town that actually had games, and that was one or two at best. Any suggestions?
