I have decided to share the experience of building out my arcade. I dig when members share buildouts of their game rooms, basements arcades, garages arcades and so on, and how proud they are to show off their prize games and overall designs. I love that folks on this forum share their experiences.... with that said, I have decided to share mine.

For a couple years now, I have been looking for a new commercial building that I could turn into my design firm / private arcade. My current office was built as a design firm only and I had 20 or so games scattered throughout the office that clients and others could play. I have been wanting somethings to house more games! After looking at many buildings and putting in offers that didn't go through, I finally found one that fit my vision and checked all the boxes.

I want the arcade to be a speakeasy type of environment, not open to the public with 70 or so games. The games will be from my collection of restos, and also my buddy @only68s will be displaying some of his uprights and pins. It will be a place for family, friends, and folks in the hobby to come and enjoy….. once I finish it in 2065.

I will start this thread from the purchase of the building (4 months or so ago) to the completion. Posts will be closer together in the beginning as I have a couple months of prior progress. Please feel free to drop advice, direction and points of view. I welcome it!

Chapter negative 5

I FOUND IT! I FOUND IT!

Well, here you go… a really bad sketch and some pics of the newly acquired space. The layout is really odd (but I can fix that). Rooms in rooms in rooms. It's easy to find yourself lost in this place. It has this long creepy hallway that I call the Hallway From Hell! Ok, all in all the space is super cool and it's gonna make a fine fine arcade. I am calling it Planet Fluxar. Inspired by Pizza Planet combined with my company name. This is a DIY project and most work will be done by myself and friends.

I will post YouTube links of videos that will make sense if you are following this thread but prob not otherwise.

Walkthrough of the space during escrow, the previous owner is still moving his stuff.
