I started building a pin a couple months ago. Here are some pics of its current state.

awesome!!

WOW!! looks great cant wait to see it when its completed. GREAT JOB!!!

Very cool, looking forward to the progress on this one. What kind of wood are you using for the PF though? It looks like pine which is a soft wood. If it is Pine then you might want to consider going with some hardwood instead, pine will sag and droop after a while.

This is a winter project so updates won't happen every day.

got an idea on the theme? or you just goin' with the flow?
The theme is "Haunted Cruse", and will use the Pepper's Ghost effect in one or more locations. I have tested the effect and it will work on a pin :D

Cool project. How are you planning to drive everything? SS? EM?
I'm designing solid state driver boards that will interface with a PC and will be controlled by custom game logic written in C++. The DMD will be replaced with a 17" SUZO-HAPP lcd and will be powered by a GeForce class graphics card. I hope to use 3d effects in addition to traditional 2d animations.

Is that a gobble hole?!
There are 2 kicker holes on the table. One on the lower left section of the main playfield and one higher up on the left side of the main table. The lower kicker just kicks the ball out, but the other kicker will kick the ball up and into a wire ramp (see the prototype sketch below). So no, it's not a true gobble hole... I have plans for one in another table design though.

I'm probably using pine for the wood (it was cheap!). And I'm using aluminum for the guides. I plan on replacing the wood and guids with proper materials once the prototype table works the way I want it to.

Looks to me like you're building a black knight.
Nope! I've never played a Black Knight before so I didn't even have it's image in my head. I just wanted some large-esh upper playfield.

Here's an old mockup. A bunch of things have been redesigned and reimagined since I drew this image, but it will give you a better image of what I have in my head.
