Hey guys, I have a Mortal Combat 1 Cabinet that was coverted to a Tekken 2. I am wanting to convert this over to a multi-cade machine. Where is the best place to start or does anyone have any good reference material that would help me in my quest?

Multicade as in just one of those 60 in 1 boards or one of the bigger ones? For the most part the cabinet should be jamma with a kick connector for the extra buttons. Should be able to just plug the jamma board into it.

60-1 would be cool...where is the best place to buy one of those? I heard about one with 10,000 games. Do you have any input on those. Thanks

The ones with thousands of games are basically just a mame computer with a jamma edge connector.

60 in one won't work in your machine, the monitor goes the wrong way and probably can't be rotated. The 19 in 1 board should plug right in.

Is that a hard thing to do, rotating the monitor? In regards to me ruining the mk1 cabinet for a multicade I did not look at it that way I guess. I got the machine for free, it has tekken side art mk1 control panel and missing the marquee and several things. I own many dedicated cabinets and value the originals in their own cabinet, I just thought this cabinet was new enough it may be a fun project. I did not realize I would be looked down on for doing this. I don't need a mk1 when I have an all original mk3. Are you saying I should just sell it or give it away rather than my project?

Tbbk, thanks for the info..any suggestions the best place to get one of those boards.

Under that Tekken side art probably lies good condition MK1 side art. MK1 is the most desired cab in the series. Not as many were made compared to the rest of the series and it's even harder to get one without faded side art.

So in my opinion, turning a dedicated MK1 into a custom multi project is a big nono, but that's just me. I would restore it, but I'm a midway guy. I understand others have different taste

You are going to have to rotate the monitor. If you go 19-1 it would be plug and play.

That's for the vertical stuff. He can get the Horizontal multicade board instead. Depends on whether he wants pac man and dig dug or moon patrol and elevator action (for instance).

The Jamma kits that have tons of games are things like Blue Elf.

There are many others, with many more games loaded (which is
technically illegal, but the way 99.9% of people use mame, it's all illegal).

If you consider yourself "good with computers" you can Do-It-Yourself
and come up with a custom PC build that you can tweak to your taste.
