This weekend found a nice Asteroids Deluxe in the So Cal CL for $150 asking. Offered $120 and they took it. It was in their family the past 15 years they said. There was a slight monitor issue, but seems to have worked itself out at this point and it's looking sharp and playing great.

This is #2 of my "buy-backs" nabbing games I've sold and regretted. It is right next to another one of my past "sold" regrets now sitting back on my floor, Video Pinball.

Same thing with me , I sold my Asteroids Deluxe and now regret it , so I'm on the look out for one .

Nice price .

Did you offer $120 just because? Or was there an unseen defect you felt warranted $30 off?

probably the klov cheap bastard syndrome was in full effect . Never give asking price on CL , its against klov law .

Great deal. It's a very rare day that I don't try to shave a few bucks off a deal myself (though it has happened... I couldn't bring myself to offer less than the $700 one lady was asking for a Whirlwind pinball... nor could I even muster any words other than "DEAL" when I was offered a GNR for a grand)....

$150 was good deal either way although I had about 150 roundtrip to get it and it does have a monitor issue where only half a screen is visible when it turned on until warmed up then it expands to normal. Also, during entry of initials top left of screen is wigging out but obviously doesn't affect gameplay. Considering these typially go in nice, working condition for $300-$400 (in So Cal) it seemed like a fair price based on a potential future monitor fix/replacement. They also said it sat on CL for about a week at $150, if you can believe that.

Wow, that's hard to believe, especially in your area. Great score, though. Looks very clean. Did the monitor start working correctly after you moved the cab?

Nice Video Pinball too!

Nice.

I, too, sold an AD once. It was the first machine I ever owned and I literally traded it for beans. (Well, for cash, a quarter-ounce of weed, and a bucket of 100+ year-old glass beads [so no beans were involved, actually].) Anywho~

that one looks very good from what I can see. Makes me miss mine.

I want one.

nice ad deluxe score there mike! i also missed my old asteroids deluxe so much..... i bought it back not too long ago from another klover (what a great game).

did you get the video pinball from keith??

Ya, that was his Video Pinball, the first one I had ever seen and played. Glad to have it!

I saved my AD from going to the thrift store as a donation, I paid $50, I also had the same issue with the half screen, just a cold solder issue, reflowed the X Y areas where the heatsinks are located. It is rock solid and plays with no jitters.....nice score....I know now that it will always be a part of my personal collection of games.

ad

ad's a keeper, in fact i have a spare. these are so cheap if i had room i would have 5 of them lined up! they get no respect, but a great game and cab!
btw nice score for 120.00, thats the price of a family dinner at outback these days!

Agreed... I only got mine because it was part of a bulk deal. To my surprise it quickly became a keeper.

Very nice! I've been keeping my eyes open for one around here. Depending on room, I'd really like all three in a row: Asteroids, AD, Space Duel. =)
