Who likes it? Who dosent? Why?

I have never really played it much.. Had it on my Jrok defender before I sold it.. I got my Jrok Defender back in a trade, about a month ago.. Was showing my 9 month old son the games, and he really liked bubbles..

So Bubbles has been the game of the week for me.. Only putting up around 50k..

Anyone have some tips on Bubbles? Clear screen before going to the next level, or hit the drain when its green?

One of the most underrated, its a blast, and my wife loves it and kicks my butt at it

her high score is 267,250

Edit: Re: why
Its fast paced, fluid movement, dodging and diving strategy, and unique

Plus the cab is cool, i like williams games, not too common

I like it a lot. I play it on my 19 in 1 quite a bit, as the emulation is pretty decent, I used to play it on my Jrok, but I like Robotron and Splat on the Jrok so I rarely fire up Bubbles on it anymore. Didn't really notice much of a difference between the two. I used to clear the board, now I drain when green.

I wish you didn't tell me that. :(

Didnt know you were looking... I think it played blind.. It was either $100 or $150 IIRC.. I did consider grabbing it, but that was before I sent a 20' uhaul full of games to the Idaho Arcade..

267k:eek: Wow.. Does she have any tips....

i can get about 150k, i like the game, it plays best with the original joystick. i try to stay alive as long as possible in early levels and get as many points as i can, hitting the drains right away makes you skip levels and it becomes too fast and difficult for me quickly.

Whats different about a original joystick? Was the original a 8 way leaf? I might change the joystick out...

Ok thanks for the tips on the drain.. so going in the drain early is like a warp?

yup it skips you ahead levels, i believe the original joystick is an 8 way optical

Yup original stick is best, its the rubber spider more than being optical in my opinion, but both add to the fluid movement programmed for a very unique feel

the rules are very basic, like robotron, and your scores climb with practice... i think she warps after getting spiders/grannys but ill ask her for tips for ya

bubbles

great game i have a dedicated. the original 8 way joystick is awesome feels very fluid also. one trick on the grease screens stay by the drain and the points multiply more when you grab the grease around the rim.

awesome game, haven't seen too many dedicated games in a long time, it seems to be one that doesn't show up often for sale

I love Bubbles. Shakey's Pizza in WInona, MN used to have one right next to Jungle King back in '83. Played it quite alot. I had a chance to buy a dedicated cab but passed as I'm building a jrok cab now. I like it because it's different than your standard shoot em up, and I love the sounds. Brings back good memories...

bubbles is cool. Not an easy find compared the the other williams classics. I have a line on a duramold, but I like the UR too much to go after it.

I have a Robotron in a Bubbles cab.

I actually want to change it back to a Bubbles, if that says anything. :)
