I have an original Taito Bubble Bobble boardset - it's most definitely an original (it has the custom Z80 with Bub (or is it Bob?) on the top, the brown Taito custom SIP PC030CM, etc). However, I'm used to seeing these with printing saying Made in Japan, yet this one says Made in Korea.
On the top board it also has the word PHOENX in a triangle next to the Taito 'stamp', and on the bottom board the same but the full word PHOENIX is used.
It had also been (factory?) modified to use 3 x 27256 ROMs/EPROMs at IC51, IC52 and IC53 instead of the original code which is 1 x 27256 at location IC51 and a 27512 at location IC52
Anyone encountered one of these before?
