Hey Folks,

So I want to build a Bubble Bobble/Parasol Stars/Bubble Symphony Cab in something as dedicated as possible for my wife.

From what I have researched Bubble Bobble and its sequels were never released in a cabinet, only as conversion kits. In the US, the Bubble Bobble kits were provided by Romstar.

Obviously, I should come up with the PCB, Side Art (Generic Romstar?)/CP overlay (Gerneric Romstar), game specific stickers, marquee, and bezel. All the stuff that came in the BB package.

Knowing that, if you wanted the most authentic cab possible, what would you do?

Does anyone know of a cabinet that works out best for BB? Did Taito intend it to be an upgrade for a particular cab? Maybe another Taito game? What about joystick/buttons?

Maybe I should just build a cab from the ground up? If so, should I follow blueprints for a specific cab? Did Romstar make a generic cab?

None of the other BB games had dedicated cabs...right?

I see lots of alt side art/marquees floating around for BB. Did they have an official source? The non Romstar BB marquee for example...

Sorry to bombard with so many questions, just looking for some advice/opinions from folks in the know.

Well there never was really any official cabinet that I know of. I know many make there own custom BB cabinets.. It's all about taste.

There is many cabinet styles you can go with..These cabinet types seem more preferable to house the game. I personally like the monitor set up on the Joust.

I know there was a Generic Romstar CPO that you can use.. as for buttons and joysticks, The good quality matching set is the best.

Thanks for the reply,

Perhaps trying to find a Taito cab is the way to go.

I'm starting to think the blue non-Romstar art (used for the title on this page)

might be the Taito version used overseas, can anyone confirm?

Also, was Bubble Bobble Symphony a "kit" only game for the F3...and did it come with anything besides the cart...anyone?

I'm trying to find out where I can get the wiring harness to hook this board up. I'm getting a board soon and I need a way to test it without having the whole cabinet built since I might be making one custom. I have been able to find the Jamma adapter but no one seems to have info on where to get an original taito harness...
