Today, I brought home a Food Fight cocktail. Only 100 or so made from the research I've done, so I am sure that less than 100 still exist today. This is serial number 0019. I bought it truly untested, and sight-unseen. Lo and behold she fired up without a hiccup. I've already put about 15 games on it thus far and I am so totally stoked to have it.

Joysticks work beautifully also, so luckily that's an expense I won't have to endure! The cabinet is a little worse for wear though. It was forcibly broken into at one point in its life, but nothing that can't be fixed. Would love to see some repro artwork made eventually.

Now THAT is a cool find. Congrats. What's the joystick configuration on that? Same as upright? I wouldn't be suprised if value is higher on this than the upright

Congrats! I've got either #64 or 63 (can't remember off of the top of my head), and I think someone started a registry a while back. Your top glass looks to be in good shape, with only a little art loss on that one side. I spoke to Darin a number of years back about doing the CPOs (I think he had a NOS set at one point), but there just isn't the demand given the low production numbers. I wonder if Scott Evans ever was able to locate the films for the CPOs or the top glass. In any event, that's great that your joysticks are in good shape since those are getting astronomical in price to replace.

Welcome to the FF cocktail club! [emoji1]

Outstanding fortune there! Great score, man. Congrats.

congrats...

I just turned down stupid money twice for my upright so food fight seems to be a tough one to get these days.

I think they are quite a bit more rare then people think since so many got converted.

100 cocktails and 1500 upright but how many are still around?

Awesome score.

I cringe to think what you paid for it (which I'm sure was good). Two sticks alone makes that thing worth big bucks, on top of the coolness factor. Seems like an ok game to actually play sitting down (unlike a lot of other cocktails.)

Thanks for posting. Such a great thing to see!

Congrats on an awesome find - I've got an upright I'm looking forward to getting back in shape.

Back in the RGVAC days you were king if you owned a FF cocktail.

Nice pickup!!
There's another KLOVer in the bay area who owns one (not me) and yes, he also said only 100 were made. It is a rare find indeed!
The weak point in the Food Fight joystick is the grommet inside. If yours are all original, they are 30+ years old and will likely start to crack under renewed use. The last place that I saw original Atari grommets was with ArcadeFixIt and he has been sold out for years.
I understand there is a repro available but you have to drill holes into it to adjust the stiffness.
It would be nice if those got reproduced like the Wico's as well. (hint...hint...) :)

I thought the Qix cabinet was an awesome find. I wish I could find one to deconvert near Chicago.

BUT OH! You got a food fight cocktail too!!! :D
That's even more rare! :001_sdrool:

Never owned a FF and not a huge fan of cocktails, but there are some, like that one, that look really awesome. Great find, congrats!!

Man, looks like they did a lot nicer with the artwork on that than they did with Dig Dug.

Which gives me an idea.... since that's the only thing that bugs the shite out of me with cocktails..... lack of unique artwork..... I might have to weasel something up to slip under the glass. Make it look more like a Dig Dug.

Anyway, sweet find! I love Food Fight, and didn't realize so few were made. Looks like the odds of getting one into my collection just dropped a bit.
