Hey all, first post here so if I leave out crucial info or screw something up, please let me know. I've reviewed the stickies about monitor repair and basic monitor info, but beyond that I know nothing about monitors or electrical repair in general, so I'm really hesitant to do anything.

I picked up an Aero Fighters game (in a GORF cabinet) a little while ago. The seller says everything works except the monitor (a WG-19K7901) crapped out on him and he didn't want to deal with fixing it.

When I plug in the system and turn the power on, I see/hear arcing electricity between two small boxes on the monitor's circuit board. Image links below. Also, very short video of the arcing (sorry about the poor quality).

What's the best course of action? Easiest to buy replacement parts or just a whole new monitor?

If the tube is decent, not a lot of burn.. Then replace the flyback (arcing) and give it a cap kit. Bet there is a nice crack or hole where that arc is coming from.

yea your anode wire has a crack in it and is arcing to the frame.
your fly is shot and possibly some other parts as well.

it needs a complete rebuild.
cap kit new fly and possibly other parts.

if you want to tackle it yourself go for it
i can supply you all the parts to do it except the fly.

but if you do not i can do it for you.

Peace
