I've been looking for a gutted Pac themed cabinet for awhile to do a multi Pac. A guy posted a Super Pacman for $275 today within reasonable distance from me (1 hour drive each way). Says it does not work but is all there. I tried to inquire and he doesn't know what is wrong, does not want to spend time on it (or says he would just fix it himself). Does not know if the monitor does not work or the game....

The picture seems to show it in good shape but it is small, as usual. So, I can't really tell the true condition and he didn't provide more details when I inquired.

I'm starting to think I'll pass... What are your thoughts? How much would it cost to build a Pac type cabinet from scratch including good artwork vs. buying this not knowing what might be able to be parted out or repaired? For anyone that has built a cabinet like this from scratch about how much time does it take?

That bites, $$$275?

I'd wait it out. It may have a cool cab and all, but the game play, don't let me go there.

Anything under $100 sounds about right for what your doing.

[edit] Where are you located, Nebraska? Snap, If you were closer I would consider possibly trading my Pac-Man cab for perhaps... A Nintendo Red Tent cab? :)

There was a red tent cab for sale here recently. I passed on it.

The $100 or under sounds like what I was originally looking for. I've had a Craigs List add up for over a month. Guess I'll wait longer and see what pops up and put a want ad on here too.

I got a non working Super Pac cocktail for free. It was an early Christmas present from my folks last year. They picked it up for $50. Of course, it works now. As for the gameplay, its an acquired taste. People I know and the general Pac-Man playing public have trouble getting into it. I love it. It was my favorite game back in the day and I wanted one for about 27 years before I finally got it. I am still wanting a nonworking upright, though. I am also in Nebraska but I don't really have that kind of money for a nonworking game, no would I want to drop that much if I had it. $100 sounds more like it.

I thought you were talking about the one in MI and he lowered the price. I thought about trying to get him down on the price, but he also says the sides are all scratched and chipped.

If you want a pac style cab for multi-pac, I would just build one. Or if time isn't an issue, just wait it out for an old beater pac, and do a little work on it.

very cool game and yes it is an aquired taste. but if you want to turn it into a multi it's gonna be a lot of work. (harness, boards, kit) i was gonna do a multi in asuper pac but it was too much too convert it. i waited for a pac upright. much less work!

I multi-ed a converted Super Pac Cab I found for $130. I've really come to appreciate Super Pac-Man but $250 is a little high for the game non-working. On the other hand, if the artwork is pristine and the insides are untouched then the price may be justified.
