is there a way to remove it from the bottom? whats the tri-wing like thing for?

Those posts always break on System 3 games (Like Street Fighter II). The thing on the bottom is called a T-nut and it will come out. You should be able to push it out from the top.

The only bad news is that you'll have to order new posts and T-nuts. If you're going to own a System 3 game it's best to have some spares on hand anyway. Terry should be able to hook you up:

Either that or Steve Young at pinball resource. He has lots of Gottlieb parts that you won't find elsewhere but most parts suppliers should have the basic hardware.

you can buy new t-nuts at ace hardware or any hardware store worth anything. then you wont have to pay for/wait for shipping

i would call steve young. use a awl or straight pick type of tool to push the out from the top of the playfield and it will fall out into the inside of the cabinet. try steve young he aways has parts like that......i believe to get the right post you would probably have to order it.....i have to order some myself here soon

Terry is closed until April 2nd. :(

Sucks because his site is shut down until then, I wanted to see if he had a part I needed. I can wait though, his service is awesome.

i just went through this a week ago Part# 530-5012-02 from action pinball is what i purchased and used for my replacements

What do you guys think of street fighter 2? I am picking one up on Saturday and just want to make sure it is worth the drive since I am driving several hours to get it.

I like mine now that I got it working. I have never been a street fighter fan. But the pin is fun for me. I enjoy the fun my friends get playing it more than anything though

Just to keep that from happening in the future- Gottlieb loves using loctite on their posts and your experience will be exactly like you just experienced. Grab a soldering iron (any ole crappy one will work), and heat up the post from the bottom first. This will loosen the loctite and prevent you from snapping so many posts.

As for replacement, you should be able to tap that one down from the top side using a nail punch or something similar, should be pretty easy.

I'll wait til Terry is back, I've got it fixed enough to play til I can order the actual part.

As far as how I like Street Fighter, its a nice 1st pinball for me and I think I got a decent deal paying $550 for it.

I'm getting mine for $800 but I think I am going to talk him down to $700 for it. I have only seen one picture of it and he says its in great condition but need to wait till I see some pictures before I am 100% sold on it. I'm driving from Omaha to Kansas to pick it up so it had better be worth the drive :)

i got mine for 400 but it was missing the DMD and wasnt working, all in all i have about 600 in my machine 100% working now
