Brofest 2017?

My sons and I were able to swing through on Saturday but we were anti social and kept to ourselves. We got a late start to what turned into a long day Saturday and were only able to spend about an hour and a half there. Because of our schedule we didn't take part in the tournament this year. We had a blast playing Rampage together and I've got to get myself a millipede. Must have spent half my time there playing that freakin game. I saw that they replaced the med-res monitor in APB with a flat screen LCD. If it keeps the game running then I am all for it but I'll admit that the curved glass makes the game feel more "familiar" if that makes sense. Sadly the Gravitar monitor was on it's last legs and made game play a let down. I was looking forward to playing so that was a low point for me.

This event falls on the same weekend as a big sports event that includes all 3 of my kids so for a few more years it's an afternoon event. However, maybe next year I can make a Friday night out of it.

Next year I'm not staying at the Naswa. I want to stay closer to the pier.

My room at the Naswa was okay, but the shower head exploded when I went to take a shower and it kind of flooded the bathroom. The drinking glasses had crusties in them too. I think I'm with you on finding another place.

Yeah, the room I was in was fine. It's just a bit to far away from the main strip for me. I can walk from the naswa but who wants to walk that far at 1 am? I guess I could of always got a uber.

I know a few people stay here. http://weirsbeachmotel.com I am going to give that a shot next year. No idea if there will be a Brofest next year but I am planning on heading down the same weekend.

I missed frank the tank again last night. We were at the bar and I was cold as hell. I told rob I was going to find Mike and then run back and change in to pants. I found Mike, showed him where we were then took off. I got pulled over on the way back to the hotel. Cop said I rolled through the stop sign but I know he was just checking for drinking and driving. He let me go with a warning but I didn't want to chance heading back down right off. Ended up just watching tv and falling asleep. Fuck, I must be old.

Frank the Tank showed up at my cabin for a little bit on Saturday, that guy is pretty funny.

did anyone notice how many "classic" game had issues??? [joystick, screen, buttons]

do they even have a tech working there at all?

Yeah, it seemed like a lot was down or had issues this year. Black Knight 2k was messed up and I wish Liberators trackball was working better. I had never seen that game before and I think I could of got in to it more if everything was working correctly.

It was like that last year -- especially in the Exidy Venture joystick. They should have a guy armed with Deoxit and ALL THE KEYS ready to do battle.

What about that green drone zipping around the FunSpot parking lot? Thought I was getting a haircut a few times!

While not tournament related, I was stoked to see a 13 year-old kid dominating at the Wonder Wheel redemption game. I started doing what he was doing and, amazingly, I cleaned up. Thanks kid, whoever you are.

Ok, I am in Laconia this week with my family, and I forgot about this post until my wife discovered the magic wonder wheel machine. This thing is a gold mine for tickets. We probably collected 5k in tickets with no effort. Something is obviously malfunctioning. When I left I watched the next person play for over an hour, non stop tickets ...... and when we came back hours later, same thing, different people same result, machine dispensing non stop tickets. On my last game, of course non stop tickets again, a tech was repairing the game next to me, when I left he turned off the machine, gravy train might be over....I will find out tomorrow.

That's awesome! You are gonna make it rain when it comes time to redeem them tickets!
