Some time mid-week next week I'll be bringing home two Stern machines. The first The Simpsons Pinball Party and the second is Lord of the Rings. I've played plenty of Sterns out on route, and I'm familiar with both of these machines, but I've never owned any Sterns. I know with a lot of WPC games you have to fix the connectors on the driver boards for the burnt GI connectors. Are there any typical fixes to look out for or anything of that nature?
I'm pretty excited. I'm actually going to be giving the Simpsons machine to my dad for his birthday in September. I'll have it for a good month and a half to get it all shiny and new looking (doesn't look bad now) before I take over to his house. The Lord of the Rings is mine straight up.
One thing I do know about the LOTR is that the bottom right flasher is stuck on. I guess it even melted the plastic dome so the last owner simply removed the bulb. I've fixed stuck flasher on my TZ before, hopefully this is as easy to do on a Stern.
Anyway, I'm excited to own what I consider the best two Stern games to date, even if The Simpsons will be moving down the road a few miles come September 15th.
