Supposed to pick this up tomorrow for $100 (plus gas). I love the widebody for some reason (there's a joke in there somewhere...) and am looking to restore it back to a Mario Bros.

It has the original board, power supply and monitor. I'm assuming wiring has been hacked for the CP and to JAMMAtize it. Thoughts on how much of a beast it will be to bring it back? I'm game regardless but being new I'd love your thoughts.

Hhhhmmmm, 2 Mario Bros turned into SF2 in the same week.... At least the price is right on this one.

I'm guessing the wiring won't be too bad. You'll probably just have to pull out all of the jamma wires and start fresh with a Mario Bros harness.

Personally, I would probably pick up that cab at that price give or take (esp because it is a widebody) and sell all the SF2 parts. It depends on how far you would go, but here's the list of things I would likely do. it's quite a bit of work and could take a month or two depending on you schedule, but totally worth it:

Parts (all relatively common):

- Mario bezel
- Populated Mario CP
- Marquee
- Full Mario Bros harness
- Mario Bros side art
- Nintendo True flat t-molding

If you want to restore it:

- Sand, fill in those lock bar holes and any other gouges, and repaint (probably the longest chunk of time)
- Since the monitor will be out of the cab anyway, might consider a cap kit. There are bound to be bad capacitors
- Remove and clean all internal parts while paint/primer coats dry (personal preference)

Is the monitor a Sanyo? Looks like it in the pics.

I restored one that was in about the same condition. Make sure the monitor is a Nintendo monitor since it's inverted. Not sure how they changed it for street fighter. Other then that I stripped it down to nothing but the box and started from scratch. Turned out really nice and it's one of my favorite machines now. Post pics of your progress. I always forget to take pictures them Im sad that I can't see the before and after. I also was able to use the CP off mine and just bondoed up the extra holes since it's harder to find a wide body CP
