Bride of Pinbot vs. (Data East) Simpsons

Im partial to the Simpsons but that is prob because I have never played a BOP in real life only in pin mame...

All depends on what you like. Never played a DE Simpsons, but have played BoP a lot lately.

It's NOTHING like the original pinbot. Pinbot is an open playfield with a lot of standup targets.... Bride of Pinbot is a very short playfield dominated by the two ramps. The head assembly is cool, but takes up a huge amount of space. Great lightshow and sounds, particularly if you get a full metamorphosis of the face. Oh, and it's NOT a DMD game, it's an alphanumeric.

Love Bop, but if you have young children its is a bit interesting. You know putting balls in her mouth and her saying aauuuoohh!!

But it is my wifes favorite too.

I have both, but I would have to give the nod to Bride of Pinbot by a fairly large margin. The Simpsons is a lot of fun, but it's really basic in comparison. Bride of Pinbot just has a lot more to shoot for and a more cohesive progression through the game. Also, Bride of Pinbot has quite possibly the best light show in all of pinball.

BOP owner. It is my best pin. I have mastered it. It is not too complex, but challenging. There are tons of loops and lots of shots. Not very complex rules wise, but challenging. 10 years I have owned it and I love each game. I finally went back to factory and love it. Once the ball comes out of the pop bumpers after launching the ball you either dead flipper or nudge. Will make newbs cry. You can combo on it like a madman.

I own a DE Simpsons and have played BoP many times. IMO, both are really good pins, but I couldn't say which one is better. Both games have a totally different "feel" to them when playing. The flow and gameplay on them both is so different.

I'll just give my usual advice: Play them both and see which one YOU prefer. That's the only way to get a proper answer for yourself. This thread will generate a ton of opinions, and in the end, you may see a 50-50 split. Most answers will be "I like <X> better" but many people just don't explain WHY they prefer one over the other.
