Braze Technologies winter sale

Page for Braze's HSS Kit: http://www.brasington.org/arcade/products/hs/dk/

Page for D2K Kit at ArcadeShop: http://www.arcadeshop.com/konghs_dk2/kongmultikit.htm

They look exactly the same, both say Braze Technologies on both the page and on the product.

What am I missing here

From what I understand, Jeff Kulczycki made DIIK. I believe it does use the Braze board in order to work though.

Jeff did the programming on D2K, Braze's kit is one of the ways to get it. It also used to be available for the ArcadeShop board, but I'm guessing since that board is no longer supported, getting D2K for it is no longer an option?
I'm guessing that the reason Braze isn't having a sale on the D2K is that he's paying a percentage to Jeff for each kit sold...

Just got 5 hi score kits...Asteroids, Battle Zone, Donkey Kong, Frogger and Popeye.
Merry Christmas to ME!

Thanks Scott ;)

pretty sure the DK II kit is basically the DK high score save coupled with a DK II rom and possibly another chip. Don't know the cost of the rom alone. You could buy the DK high score save kit from Braze.

I bought my D2K kit from Arcade Shop, not their multi-board, just the D2K kit for a DK board. It still shows as available from them on their website. BTW: The Braze sale won't save you anything for D2K anyway. The DK highscore kit from Braze is $39, the D2K upgrade chip (which requires the DK highscore kit) from Arcade Shop is $40, and the complete D2K kit from Arcade Shop is $79.

I'll be ordering a DK Jr high score kit tomorrow as well as a Missile Command multigame. It's nice to see him back and I look forward to future kits.
