Bowed Back Door Fix?

Why would I build, route, sand, prime and paint a new door, when the original is in solid shape, fully painted already and merely has a bow in it? Some of you people are nutz.

you said it looked like a banana, it doesn't look that bad at all. 8$ in wood isn't nuts.

regardless looks good, and yes i am slightly nutz.

and actually the cab does look like a banana maybe many of us mis-interpreted that (damn intranetz).

Very common problem, and the fix was to put a screw in each side about half way down on the door. It is not even noticeable if you counter sink them.

I hate screws in back doors. It's too nice to just be able to turn a key and pop it off. Who wants to deal with screws?

My Spy Hunter door is pretty bowed but the interlock still engages (maybe the prior owner adjusted it - haven't ever looked closely at that). I'd love to have it flatten but like you, phet, I think it's nuts to make a new back door when you've already got a perfectly good door with a slight flaw.

Are you going to try the car weight idea? I'd really like to hear if that works well so please let us know if you do that.

Rotate the interlock switch to face up or down and pull it into the "out" position. Put the door back on and be done with it for crying out loud.
