I hate screws in back doors. It's too nice to just be able to turn a key and pop it off. Who wants to deal with screws?
My Spy Hunter door is pretty bowed but the interlock still engages (maybe the prior owner adjusted it - haven't ever looked closely at that). I'd love to have it flatten but like you, phet, I think it's nuts to make a new back door when you've already got a perfectly good door with a slight flaw.
Are you going to try the car weight idea? I'd really like to hear if that works well so please let us know if you do that.
