Bought my first jukebox - 1967 Rock-Ola 435 "Princess Deluxe"
Entered the world of jukebox ownership on Friday night. Bought myself a 1967 vintage Rock-Ola 435 "Princess Deluxe". The name is a bit silly, but it's a cute small jukebox - hopefully just right for my small game room. Holds fifty 45s. Has vintage tube amp goodness and dual 12" speakers. It works and is in great cosmetic condition (needs a good clean & polish job). The sound definitely needs some help, though.
It's a Craigslist find. The couple who sold it to me had bought it in about 1986 and had it in their house ever since. They never learned how to do anything to it other than change out the 45's. (Most of the records in it are pretty well worn out.) The guy did claim that he'd put a new set of tubes in it at some point. On the few occasions when it had problems, he paid a tech to do a house call.
Now, I have to learn about jukeboxes... Any suggestions and pointers to resources would be appreciated! I was thinking that I'd start by ordering some manuals and a cap kit. (from Victory Glass?) That, and begin looking for some good vinyl to put in it.
Attached are two mediocre cell phone pics of the exterior.
