Check out the Qbert I bought from Babs. It cost me $110 and doesn't work. I need to get a power supply to see if it will come on. Was I ripped off?

Nice, it has a swearing marquee! That alone is worth $50-$100 depending on the buyer.
I have rebuilt power supplys for sale.

It's not made out of cardboard? (Was that him?)

You got ripped off. Mine was free and working. Just needs a knocker and sound work (weird sounds)...

;)

Yeah, it's not as good a deal as the free Donkey Kong I got last summer. I just recapped the sound board and it worked. Collecting is becoming more affordable now that multigames are saturating the market.

Here's the inside. It's pretty nice except for the missing power supply. Is it possible to use a switcher in one of these? I've seen the arcadeshop kit, but I wonder if you can make your own.

You can put a switcher in them no problem if your not concerned with the knocker working correctly. In my experience 24v is just not enough to kick the knocker.
I have some used (recapped and tested) Bally slot machine switchers here that have all the voltages needed. I had made a couple of plug & play harness for the switchers but never made any more after arcadeshop came out with their pcb adapter.
