Bought a nintendo cabinet might have made a mistake

So bought this cabinet http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=170359506653

I wanted to put in a mike tysons punchout pcb in it as Im a punchout fan now I notice that the game uses two monitors and the one I bought is a vs cab and not a play choice doh! My question is did I just shoot myself in the foot or can I get a punchout that will work with this cab I want the nes version not the arcade.

i all you are going to do is put a playchoice single monitor pcb in there, then you are fine. if you need parts, i have a few left.. i know that i have the timer and a few other miscellaneous parts.

Sweet when I looked the game up on klov it didnt mention a single monitor version. Thats pretty much all I want to do is change the game to mike tysons punch out.

You're going to have to run a Playchoice 10 PCB with Punchout on it for a single monitor. Which is good for you since you don't want the "arcade" dual monitor version.

Well if the cab was dual a monitor it would be cooler. I simply ment that I was not interested in the version in which your character is wire frame never really got into those versions.

You could also get an old PC with a video card that is capable of 15 kHz, some software to force 15 kHz resolutions (such as Soft-15 kHz) a keyboard encoder (such as an Ultimarc iPac), an NES emulator and the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out ROM. Then you could play MTPO on an arcade cabinet in the form that it was meant to be played (rather than worrying about the ridiculous timer that PC-10 versions have). As a bonus you could play thousands of other games via emulation as well. The total cost would be like $50 (less if you already have an old PC kicking around).

I always wondered why MTPO was never released in VS. format. It was a monster hit on the NES; so you'd think they would have capitalized on that as much as possible. It would have been cool to have MTPO modified by Nintendo in a way that made it more geared to an arcade machine (like they did with Excitebike).
