Bought a JVL touch screen game from user name Nerbflong last night. Super cool guy with a really nice, clean arcade in his house. Really slick setup and everything looks really good and nice! Thanks for the game, Dave!

I upgraded the RAM sims in it today from some old computer parts I had laying around. It's noticeably faster. Does anyone have any tricks on how to tap the screen and not get the "double or triple" tap? Every time I play a MegaTouch or JVL, I do this. Press a button and it registers as two or three taps. I dont know if my skin on my fingers is different then other peoples, or what, but I have a hard time just tapping it and having registering as one tap. I calibrated the screen, but it didnt really help. I know there's nothing wrong with the game, because other people that have played it have no problem. It must be me. LOL.

Try popping the touchscreen out of the cabinet and cleaning it around the edges. A lot of times, random dirt and crap will accumulate there, especially along the bottom. Enough buildup will cause issues with the touchscreen. Either it will be intermittent to your touches, it won't calibrate properly, or may not even work at all, if it's dirty enough. What model jvl did you get?

How much ram did you stick in it? Glad its running a touch faster.

I wondered about the double taps and though it was a fluke. It honestly never did that before so I wonder if when I did a reset that did it.

Or it could be as shawn said, its just a little dirty and needs a cleaning. I never cleaned the touch screen besides a wipedown on the front. :)

Fun games on those JVLs I wish they had a version for mame!

Make sure your cord and outlet are properly grounded. Bad ground or no ground are often responsible for double tap problems.

Its a JVL Conquest. Has iTouch 8+ on it. I pulled the mother board out yesterday and saw the ram sims in the back. It had 64 megs of ram installed. I happened to have 128 megs laying around of old school 17 pin. I was super excited to find it in my closet. I called my uncle who is a IT technician and told him to keep the lookout for free ram. People gotta have the stuff lying around and willing to give it away.

I dont know how much ram it will be able to handle, but there's a big difference right now. I'd like to see if I can get a gig of ram in it. I wonder if it'll take it.

I'll pull the bezel apart today and clean it for good measure. Interesting that you say that about the ground, Mjenks. The powder cord has the ground prong broken off. I have a few upstairs in my room. I'll try it in a bit when the kids take a nap. Cant work on anything arcade related with them up and around.

Also, Dave...Did you buy this thing new? It's in excellent condition. Like it's never been on route before. I cant believe how clean and nice this is.

I have a JVL Conquest with iTouch 8 on it as well. Fun machine. I was told iTouch 8 is about the newest software version you can load on it before it slows to unplayable.
I'll have to check how much RAM is in mine and see if I can upgrade. It would be nice to know what the RAM limit is on the mother board.

Mike is correct. The main problem that causes 99-44/100% of double taps is an ungrounded cord or outlet. I learned this the hard way and I'll leave it at that.

Update..I grabbed a cord with the ground in tact from the garage. Works perfect now! Wont even try to double tap. Awesome. Makes the machine much more enjoyable.

Yesterday, I did call JVL asking about upgrading ram before I did it. They told me that iTouch 8+ is the highest software I can put on the conquest machine.

Thanks for the responses and help guys!
