Bought a Bob Roberts cap kit lately?

I bought one for my K6100 but haven't gotten to do it yet.

Zanen Electronics is still around. We buy flybacks from them all the time.

Do you have contact info for him you can share? I keep finding what I assume is stale info. Wish he had a website. Those have only been around for about 20 years.

Turns out he was the brother-in-law of a fellow pilot I fly with. They have a list of the various cap kits available that they send out with each order. I buy a lot of the bottlecap transistors for the 6100s from him as well as a few cap kits. ....and yes.......I do still buy cap kits from Bob. Just depends on which kit I want. Zanen has a lot of lfybacks at sometimes better prices than Bob or the other guys out there. Quantity discounts are possible so if you can go in with somebody else local to you, you could save a few bucks perhaps.

I generally buy cap kits from Zanen because they are fast, cheap and they accept credit cards so I don't have to futz around with mailing payments.

There is no problem. Your kit will work. The change is something that will only really bother guys like Chris who prefer a little more bulletproofing. It's probably only really relevant to operator's or guys who run them 24/7. Most of you won't notice a thing...
