If you're one of the regulars that'a purchased a shitload of caps from him, there's two things you'll notice, who's got the answer besides me?

I haven't bought kits from him in a while as I have plenty of bulk in stock, but based on his prices lately (which seem a little cheaper) I'm going to guess he's got a new supplier with a cheaper product...

Easy, I noticed it too: the caps have changed brand and color. What do I win? It used to be really easy to tell if a game has been worked on because all of the replacement caps were baby blue in color.

It's been a long time since I ordered. No wonder I haven't noticed.

Seems like Nichicon was the brand I recall. Just bought some bulk caps from Mouser and in addition to Nichicon (most expensive) there was a brand that began with an "L" that was a good bit cheaper. I stayed with the Nichicon. Don't know if it really matters, though. :)

the 20EZ Plus kit i just got last week has a bunch of the Xicons he usually uses, but there are also some Lelons, Nichicons, and a lonely Jamicon.

i remember hearing something a while ago about the cheap Xicons he was using no longer being available or going up in price; maybe he's slowly using up the supply he has left and sourcing the rest as inexpensively as he can regardless of the brand.

Bob used to use Xicons, but I haven't bought any kits from him lately. We went with Nichicon when we did our massive cap kit party last year.

Whatever happened to Zanen?? They used to have the best deal on cap kits if you bought them in QTY. I just make my own now....

Over 10 years ago I bought from Zanen. I have heard recently Aubrey (I think) is still around and selling kits but is hard to get in contact with. I haven't tried. He was a really nice and helpful dude last I dealt with him.
