I've been looking for one, and have seen those. They have all been listed for a long time. The ones that are not 799 started at 999.

Those prices are crazy.

The ones that are 799 should be 450 and the ones that are 450 should be 225.

i am with you. would rather pay 450.00 and get nos ones in old box. but they are holding steadfast. i am not willing to go more then that. will have to wait and see been looking for a while and those yellow ones are nice and very clean. got to hold my offer firm. with 6 of them they will come to their senses. thanks for input

I picked up a red on two years ago for $60 on Ebay. I can't believe anyone would pay those prices on one of these. They are cool, but not that cool. Also, I really do not like the yellow.

I would have bought one a long time ago if he had reasonable prices.

I would actually prefer one with a 5 cent mech instead of those 25 cent mechs, so even though they are NOS, they still aren't "perfect" to me.

I keep waiting for an "average" one to come up at a normal (~200) price. I'll just keep waiting...

These are supposed to be from 1967-68 and still have quarter mechs. I agree 5 cent would be more retro. Did not know they made 5 cent mech for this. They came back again at 550.00. They dont seem to budge. Same thing last week. I refuse to go more then 450.00.

550 is more than I'd spend...so is 450

If it was red, NOS, and had a nickel mech, I'd be interested at 450.

It seems like most of the red ones I see are 5 cent, at least one of the 450 ones on ebay now you can see is a 5 cent.

One just listed on ebay for $1999.

Nuts!

I'm still looking for one with a nickel mech for a sane price.

They can list anything at any price on Ebay. That doesn't mean its priced realistic or will ever sell.

I wouldn't spend $450 on one that's NOS. I simply don't see it having that much value. Yes, its a piece of 70's nostalgia and they are kind of fun. I saw one in my local antique store last year. They wanted $300 for it. It was in so-so condition. I figured it was worth maybe at most $100. But that's me.

My buddy's dad has one just like that in his bar... had it up at the house before that. He probably picked it up for less than $20 in a junk shop years back.

Obviously, there is a huge contingent of Ebay/Craigslist sellers that are intent upon screwing someone into the next century by listing there games at obscene prices, 5 to 10 times market value.
Of course, now it will be nearing impossible to buy a Booz Barometer at a realistic price......as all sellers can now say "I'm asking $800 for mine, they normally sell for $2000 on Ebay".

i have to agree with many, i have seen many sell for 150.00 or below, i know there are battery ones and 110v ones that seems to make a price difference also. Those prices on Ebay that i see are WAY out of line, but i see that someone has bought at that price in the past...soooo if you want it that bad????

Fun little toy to have around for drinking parties if you have a lot of bar space.

I wouldn't spend more than $150 on one, though.

I have wanted one of these for some time now, even have ebay send me links for the newly listed ones. The prices that peeps are asking are way out of line for a novelty item. Even saw one listed for $2499.00 a while back.

Heck, I have one of these:

..and arguably would be more fun in an inebriated state. Which is why I want to find a beat, or even a non working Booze Barometer, and convert it so it gives you a shock if you fail :D

$100 - $150

Seems like these show up from time to time on Ebay and elsewhere for between $100 - $150. There are so many different variations on it.

I don't condone drunk driving, but what's really sad about it, is you could probably drink a couple of beers and win on this game and be totally safe to drive, and still wind up in jail because most states have the limit set so low now.

I finally got one.

I wanted the brown and red one, and only the 5 cent version.

I wanted one in very nice condition (no rust, no cracks in the face, etc).

I also only want the battery version (since that is original)

I spent what most folks would consider "too much", but I got one in incredible cosmetic condition, with the 5 cent mech and all. It even has the metal coin box and lid which seems quite unusual.

I bought it unworking.

I had to:

Drill the lock. I had to make my own cam for my new lock because the cam has a notch on it that hooks onto the back door. I used a dremel to put the notch in one of my stock cams.

Clean out the coin mech. There were about a dozen nickels jammed up in it. Also a couple pennies. And a length of wire.

Thoroughly clean the wand and the bent wire to get good connection (sanded them real good with emory paper). It wasn't making good contact before I did that.

Replace the battery.

Polished the coin mech. I can pretty much see my face in it now. No rust on it. It looks great.

The game is now working like a charm and looking real nice. It was worth the wait.
