I have a bootleg pacman and was wondering if the mame roms would be the same for it. I think I need to re-burn some roms. I can here the game play but have garbled mess on the screen.

Post a picture of the boardset. There are too many different versions of pac bootlegs to guess what your working with.
Post a pic of a screenshot too.

This might be a video sync issue. The game will coin up and all the controls work and you can here it play just fine. Let me know what you guys think please. BTW is there anyone that can identify that bezel with all the fish on it?

Swapping out the monitor doesnt prove its a board issue. It could be a wiring problem or the monitor connection is hooked up wrong.

I had bought a game like that once where the guy who sold it to me thought that the monitor was shot because the game was coining up but the video was scrambled just like the one in your picture...

As it turns out, it WAS a sync issue. Someone made a mess of the wiring and had all pins 6-7-8-9 all jumped together on the monitor chassis. I removed the mess and the game came right up!

Can you post a pic of your wiring connector as its plugged into your monitor?

It might give us some additional insight to your sync issue...
