Bones.... Punky Kong???

Think my DVR recorded it. Looked interesting.

EDIT: Guess I forgot to record it. Will catch it online.

not sure this has been posted yet, but I thought I would open a can of worms;

just got home from work so I was unable to watch, sound like a huge steamy pile of Sh^%
but nonetheless I would have lke to have witnessed it..

anyone catch it? trainwreck?

No, it was great. My wife who has seen the "King of Kong"(not into it, but loves me none-the-less), picked up on the "Billy" and "Steve" thing in the show. She asked at the beginning where Billy's tie was and later on the Billy character was wearing an American Flag tie! LOL! It was a geek fest, that along with the incredibly blatent 'Avatar' commercial subplot.....

My wife watches the show, and she called me in to the living room during this episode.

I did not watch all of it, but from what I remember;

1) The arcade game looked like a donkey kong except the nintendo coin mechs were just below the control panel.

2) They did talk about the "kill screen" in the fictional game.

3) A suspect was an arcade repair dude who had NOS Qbert parts and was fixing games for babes.

4) There was a claim that people would play $50-$100 to play one game on the machine that set the record.

5) They had some scenes in the arcade. Mostly newer games though. I did see a Pac Man and a Reunion cab.

Who got killed? Was there a Brian Kuh character? Who ended up being the killer?

EDIT: Oh, and did Walter Day end up squirming his way in for a cameo?

No walter Day, but they did have a 'referee' and he was wearing the striped shirt. They also put the american flag Tie into the episode.

Basically - there was an autistic kid who played the game every day. He got a perfect game (ala billy's perfect pac man) several times, and one guy videotaped him (a mail man I think). He submitted the score as his own and was the world record holder. Others tried to match his score - some chick and another guy who did game repairs. The autistic kid was basically Steve - and the other two (the guy who cheated and the guy who did game repairs) was a split of billy. They threw in a hot chick for TV, of course.

I like how they used the Atari 2600 Pac-Man game sounds on the promo. The Door sounds from DOOM, 2600 Pac and 2600 DK get used all the time for generic video game sounds.

I saw it, pretty hilarious stuff.
What cabs were in the arcade scene? I saw a Galaga and a Ms Pac-Man but couldn't make out other games clearly.
By the way, the fictional game in the episode was "Punky Pong" not Kong. I appreciated how the frame of the machine had a V-shape just like a real Pong machine does.

No, but I laughed out loud at the "Gemini Constellation scoreboard"........

Yeah, we are geeks that get this stuff...........

I'm sure the Billy Mitchell Fan Club.. errr... Twin Galaxies posse is going to be up in arms and threatening lawsuits again :)

I had a friend call me to tell me to watch it. Unfortunately, I am at work :( So I guess I'll have to catch the repeat at some point.

You guys can check it out on Hulu. Just finished up watching it myself. Pretty good episode, but the beginning was pretty gruesome.

Yup. 2600 Pac-Man sounds are the stock sounds for video arcade games in movies, commercials, & sitcoms.

I remember a commercial from a while back where they were trying to illustrate how lame home video games were compared to something else. Those sounds were used + an Atari 2600 joystick with only the rubber casing on the stick; the stick inside had been removed. So it looked like a limp piece o' nothing while they were using it in the commercial. Clever!
