Bonehead move

I REALLY appreciate the offer!!! However, I must pay you. I'm weird like that. I can wait until "Mrs. Vagina" releases funds. For the time being, I will throw the pc monitor back in. I made a bezel for it and friends/family can't tell the difference. Only we can, so no hurry.

Thanks again. I am truly humbled by the offer.
Take it and pay it forward later when you've got a part someone else needs...

i like that idea!
Due to exceedingly limited space, I have very little beyond what I really need, but on the rare occasion I do have excess to sell/give away, I now follow the following guidelines:

1. 100% satisfaction guaranteed or I'll give you a full refund including shipping. My reputation is not for sale at any price and if you're not happy, I'm not happy. But this is usually a moot point due to 2.

2. If I have something relatively inexpensive, I'll give it away including shipping it on my own dime (like a M.C. cocktail tracball I gave away a couple months ago). It is hard to have a complaint about something you got for free and the goodwill is worth more than a couple bucks IMO.

3. When I do sell something, error on the side of caution when giving a description. A few weeks ago there was an issue with a board pulled years ago and advertised as working. If I pull something working but have no way to currently test, it is listed as untested.

Like I said though, this rarely is an issue because I rearely have anything on hand beyond what I really need...

I have a very similar philosophy, the only difference is I have more stuff than I need...

I've never yet sold a single piece, I just give parts to people who need them. If I had something that I really needed but someone else wanted it, I would consider charging for it. I used to get the postage paid back, but now I don't even bother with that. The part is free, the shipping is free. I get more than my "moneys worth" here on this forum with all the helpful people, so that is how I try to contribute.

we have all been there in one way or another - broken monitor bezel glass - monitor neck snap - fried board... whatever ...we have all had our moments

Knocking a control panel off of a barstool onto a perfectly good G07. Yeah, that kind of thing.

I used to have some junk 4900 board sets with the neck PCBs still on but not anymore.
