Just FYI... just placed an order on Wednesday, got it today... saw the following posted on Bob's site..

Was at his place the other day. His health is not good, and his house is up for sale again. He wants to move back east.

Wow, such a bummer.
Some of my very first arcade parts orders were from Bob, and it was always such an incredible experience with the speed/ease of service.

Best wishes to Bob and family.

We are loosing a great resource, thanks for all your help and wishing the best for him and his family. I will miss the moon pies!

Oh, man. This double sucks. Bob is a good guy, and I wish him nothing but the best.

Sadly, my local parts place is closing after 60+ years. :(

Bob's getting on in years. I wish that someone could take over for him. Would hate to lose such a valuable resource.

those are some awful big shoes to fill and i wish him the best. amazing guy.

The announcement says "We will reopen as soon as possible.", maybe he is just reorganizing the business so that someone else can take over or at least do more of the day to day operations. I thought his nephew was part of the business. We all deserve some retirement years, especially after dealing with a bunch like us for so long.

Mine (Electronic Resourcing in Tumwater, Washington) closed back in February after 50 years of business.

I don't have anything close to an electronic store like that around me. closest it comes is a radio shack, and if you asked for caps they would think you were looking for a hat, want a pot and they would direct you to the closest bad bath and beyond. My only option to buy parts is people like bob or mouser. In today's world im surprised that a little mom and pop electronic store could even last this long.

Ugh ! That sucks. It's been a slow process and now ALL the good places in San Diego have gone, Gateway closed and SD electronic supply took over, then disappeared ( like quite literally ), then San Diego Electronics in El Cajon gave up the ghost, Industrial liquidators went through one rename ( to surplus depot ) then poof..gone. A1 surplus closed their warehouse, they just do industrial equipment now :( Two other places I used to buy surplus from closed up in the last 2 years, one of the guys I've bought stuff from for like 12 years.

There's still Murphy's surplus and Willy's Electronics but that's not like your old school electronics store loaded with trays of parts with everything from 1960 to modern day.

Bob deserves to retire. I think he has done more than enough to help this community. It will be sad ...but he deserves to enjoy what time he has left.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't read in that anything about retirement or health issues. Sounds like he's just catching up. :)
BTW. Bob is great
