Bob Roberts slowing things down a bit due to health issues..keep him in your thoughts

Sounds like Bob Roberts is having some health issues...this was posted today on his website

September 27, 2010
Only a small percentage of packages will ship today. Please don't back my email up any further than it already is by asking if I got your email or if I've shipped. We will get to all of them eventually... sooner rather than later.

So far this year we have helped more than twice as many hobbyist as we have in any one year of the past fifteen years. To keep up with everyone I have stretched a good many of my 20 hour days to 21 & even 22 hours & as a result my health has deteriorated to a point I can't outrun. You may have noticed a slowing down over the past few weeks & that was due to doctor appointments & even with Uncle Sal, our harness maker & our postal gal kicking in we did get behind a bit & had a few small errors. Without me on the keyboard putting everything into lay terms things slow down to a crawl & my doc has told me it is imperative that I not keep up the hours I have been. In order to make better use of my time I am not going to be able to look up part numbers or parts by game title (I need resistor R10 on my Bugs Bunny Game) as it is too time consuming.

Back to today... I went to the doc's this AM & he scheduled an emergency appointment with a cardiologist for 2:30PM today, so the gang here is winging it as best they can & my full inbox is going to have to wait until I get back.

Please be patient... I'll be back!

I think I might send Bob a card and letter. Don't want to back up his email any more but kind of want to say thanks for all he's done for us collectors and let him know that taking care of himself first rather than our orders is far more important.

Yeah, he has emailed me a few times in the last few weeks apologizing for the delayed responses. Said it was due to many Dr's appointments. I hope he's OK. I hope he doesn't give up on the parts and stuff but if his health is in jeopardy that should be first priority.
Good luck Bob!

Seriously, who does that? When I place my orders, all Bob has to do is confirm the total and add shipping. I make sure I know exactly what I need and only order things listed on his site, using MY time to look them up.

Anyway, I hope Bob is doing well.

Exactly, same here, I bet it happens a lot though.

Guess I'm one of those "more than twice as many hobbyist as we have in any one year of the past fifteen years" Spent somewhere around $500 this year from Bob after being in a no buying anything arcade related mode for around 3 years while I saved up for a house. I think I'm one of his easier customers though. I just send him list of what I want copied and pasted from his own price list. Never asked him what "x" part was. That's what forums are for ;). Anyways, I may send him a get well soon card as well. He's sold me stuff I never would have even thought that I would need before >_<.

Man, that's sad to hear. That right there is a dedicated man. Honestly, half of my games wouldn't be where they are without him. I hope he gets better before anything else. Forget pending orders (including mine). I hope he puts them on hold/delay until all is well. Knowing Bob, he's going to find a way to get it done regardless. I'll send a card as well. :(

Wow, that's crazy. I just got an order from him too. Cross-shipped quyickly no roblems at all.
I hope he feels better soon. I know I wouldn't mind if my order takes an extra couple of days for this reason.

How about sending Him a Freaking Card !! Thanking Him and a Get Well Card.
God Bless You Bob and Alice.
You are in our Prayers.
Tom

I don't think anyone would. And I almost passed out when he said he looked up the parts too.

Bob, you could cut your service in half and still out do the competition. Get some much needed rest, the lower that bar a bit....

Lots of prayers out to Bob Roberts... A great guy and invaluable part of this hobby. My Frogger and Assault machines can attest to that. :)

ANybody know how old bob is?

in any event this sucks man. Great guy man, would suck if he had to bow out.

I was just getting ready to order parts too for a repair job im doing.. oh boy..

...and that message on his site is EXACTLY why we all bother to deal with the cross shipping/no paypal/etc when buying from Bob. Great selection of hard to find products all in one place, the service is top notch, and most importantly, no BS when it comes to communication.

Just put an order in today. Hoping he feels better soon and that the 22 hr days turn back into 8.

Wow, get well soon Bob! I just ordered from him last Tuesday and had my parts that Friday. Slow down Bob- we'll all understand!!

Cardiologist means stress test......
All the best to Bob, hope everything turns out ok
otherwise he may be down a few weeks or months depending the outcome.
