This is going to sound strange, but has anybody ever met Bob Roberts in person? I've always wondered what he is like in person and what he looks like. Let the man behind the curtain be revealed.

Is he a member here? Does he have games or he is just an expert in repairs?

All I know is that he is very quick to ship and I will always order from him.

i think he's safer not being a member here. too many people would give him constant praise (myself included) and he'd never have any time left to work.

i met him - bought the 2 nsm jukes from him.
He looked nothing like i pictured him. He's tall, and has gray kinky curly hair. I'd guess his age around 60 or so - give or take 10 years (i'm not good with guessing ages).

He's an 8ft tall spider wearing a diaper.(Anyone who watches or used to watch a certain show will get this immediately.)

I found an archive pic of Bob from the 80's - when technology was much more crude and simple........

Yah, I couldn't resist! :) . Maybe we should petition Bob for a photo on his website?

He's at least 70 because when he and I were emailing back and forth the other day he mentioned hitting the big 7-oh. We're pretty fortunate to have a guy like him still going strong with his business at that age. Sure hope he doesn't give it up anytime soon. Geez, I hate to even think about that. :(

God I dread the day when Bob leaves the scene. It'd be nice to know he'd be passing on the site to someone he trusts- but how is it really possible to replace someone with as much patience and knowledge. That and there's so much information on his site, I hope it's never abruptly closed down. 70 huh?

If I remember correctly, Bob did quit the arcade scene a few years back and then 'by popular demand' he resurected his business to continue helping the arcade community.

Also, I'm not sure about KLOV but he did quit one of the newsgroups in a way as to never, ever return. It may have been RGVA...anybody remember this?
He got so fed up with all the BS trash talk and the false arcade repair information that he swore to leave and never return. He complained about it for quite a while before he finally left for good and, as far as I know, he has no interest in ever coming back to another newsgroup.

Interesting, and I can completely understand this. I haven't been into arcade machines that long, so I never knew about it.

"There is no place I know, to compare with pure imagination..."

Maybe one day, 5 lucky KLOVers will get a Golden Ticket with their shipment of parts.

I do remember something about him quitting and then coming back. I can only imagine the bazillion emails he must get:

" it says here that i should use only a blah, blah, blah, but I only see a blah, blah, blah listed on your site, would a blah, blah, blah work instead of a blah ,blah ,blah ? If not, do you know where I could get a blah, blah, blah ?"

or

"I just picked up a Bad Dudes in a Gorf cabinet and was wondering if you think 75.00 is too much ? My friend thinks it's worth it because it has one of your switchers in it, at least I think its one of yours, it's gray and looks just like the one I bought for my mame cab, aren't the ones you sell gray ? Anyway, do you have any neon green leaf switch buttons ? I think it would look cool on this"

or

"I just bought one of your cap kits and was wondering why one little metal leg thingy is longer than the other ? Did I get defective caps ? Do you have any that have legs that are the same length ? Dunno why it bothers me so much, I am going to cut them off anyway but figured I would ask"

"Does it matter what direction I put this fuse in ? "

I bet these aren't too far off the mark. Go easy on him.

I always pictured him as a as-400 and his wife and kids were terminals LOL
