Bob Roberts, cross-shipping in jeopardy.

one of those listed is a member here. last logged on about 2 months ago.

Yes and some folks who know him have urged him to make good with his debt to Bob. He has not though. While I know he went through some rocky times it's no excuse for not paying your debts.

I don't blame him one bit, would stop cross shipping also if it were my business, nothing worse than a bunch of dead beat buyers who do not follow through with their end of the agreement.

I cannot believe how long that list has gotten. I remember when it only had four names which was far too many even back then.

I tried doing the cross shipping for awhile last year with RAM Controls. After I got hit for about $1500 from a few deadbeats, I decided to swallow the loss and pull the plug on cross-shipping. It's too bad, because it was working for the majority of people - just a few bad seeds had to ruin it for everyone else. I can totally accept a $1500 loss, but it had gotten to a point where it was too much to let slide any further. Perhaps I should have named all of them publicly? I'm not sure if that works or not, but it seems to get people worked up enough to talk about it on KLOV. LOL

More power to Bob if he can keep his exposure under control - he's an asset to our community and I want him to stick around for the long haul!!

Dave

I can. This hobby has attracted quite a few losers and deadbeats over the past 5 years. And every time a guy rips someone off, you get 3 or 4 or 5 people chiming in about what a great guy he is or how they had a deal with the guy that went well and on and on. The community needs to start holding people accountable for EVERY deal they make, not just the one that went well with yourself. It's sad it's come to this. Hopefully Bob will keep cross shipping for those of us that have proven ourselves over the years.

I doubt Bob has even added the morons he is talking about to that list yet.

I didn't even know that he did cross shipping. My first order from him obviously he didn't. My 2nd order he did and I was surprised that I got an email stating he had shipped my stuff.

That day, I busted my ass like a mad man to the post office to hand deliver his payment.

I got my parts Wednesday, he got his payment Thursday. I definitely do not want to screw cross shipping up. It saves so much time.

When I do a 3rd order, as soon as he confirms, my payment is on it's way!

I can't believe he gives people 10 days before he sends a notice. Thats too kind and people who take advantage of it should be ashamed.

I say we form a mob , bring your torches and weapons , lets hunt these fools down !

He hasn't.....you've got to be seriously delinquent to get on that list. Bob should start dating those names.....so we can see just how delinquent (and pathetic) these people are.

I'm going to have to try out that bank bill pay option, that sounds great!

Bob was the first person I used the BillPay option on after seeing someone on here say they used it. I was nervous because it arrives in one of those "tear the sides and top off" self sealing envelopes.

Anyway, sent one 2 times ago and last time and both times it arrived. In fact last time it was last night. I was nervous because I ordered on Monday and Bob shipped and I typed it in BillPay the same day. It said "thursday" and no email from Bob. Got one late last night (like midnight) saying it arrived.

I don't write checks much anymore and this was the perfect option for me (even get to save the $.44).

I wonder what the deal is with Mary Whalen/Nilan. She managed to make Bob's list twice, simultaneously. I can't imagine that many women are ordering arcade parts. She probably has a boyfriend living on her couch, swilling her Coffee Brandy, wishing that his Time Killers-in-a-Centipede-cabinet worked ... and of course he doesn't have his own checking account ... but she does.

"Hey babe, you'd better hold off on sending that check to Bob. I made a withdrawal today to buy my cousin's '76 Volaré."

BillPay has to be offered by your bank, but a number of online banks offer it (USAA.com, for example). A lot of credit unions offer it as well.

You can put in your monthly bills (or occasional bills) and BillPay will attempt a bank-to-bank transfer if the other party's information is known (most of the big mortgage companies, credit card companies, etc) so those payments are pretty "instantaneous". For others (like my local water company, for example) the BillPay company does a computer-printed check/addressed folded and sealed envelope and puts it in the postal mail. Its similar to when you get checks from the government in the mail.

I like it because I can control pretty much exactly when the money comes out of my checking account.

I was pretty proud I actually got payment to him before I got my stuff last time.

He always beat me the 10 times before that.

This pisses me off, and Bob doesn't deserve it. I say we get a collection going to send to Bob to see if we can put a dent into the money owed. Cross shipping is a great thing that Bob does, and we should let him know that. That list got a lot longer since the last time I saw it.

I wish some of these shit heads lived within 8 hrs of me... I'd put some 'pressure' on them to pay.

I'll chip in for that.

He DOES cross ship for 1st time buyers too, believe it or not. The guy's incredible.

+1 I can attest to this, ordered a ribbon cable kit from him ($14 total), I had never bought from him but he sent it asap, great guy to do business with and I will def be going to him first for any of my needs in the future. :)
