Bob Order

Very funny. I needed two big caps for a Bally transformer. Ended up loading on other "odds and ends" that get socked away for who knows what.

Unreal. BUT his prices are amazing and worth it - maybe someday i will either bulk sell the stuff here or MAYBE i will get lucky and use it!

I thought that was an undesirable "feature" why not email mark and get his. I always keep a few of his around.

oh and I signed up for bill pay through my bank with bob now, man it's the greatest thing ever. I don't have to worry about getting a check from my wife, getting it mailed, etc.

Cool! Bob does Billpay now?! Awesome!

No one has to "do" Billpay. Billpay works with anyone. That said, if you're not a "signed up" Billpay member, the bank simply issues a check and mails it to the seller. It takes about 5 days instead of 1 day for members.

Bob is just about the only person I DO NOT use Billpay with. Why? Because it takes 5 days. I'd rather send him a check the next day... he mails my stuff in 24 hours it's only right to mail his check in 24 hours. I am not sure how long it takes for the bank to create and mail em.

Amen.

I usually have my check written and ready to go by the time I finish reading his confirmation.

ArcadeMaze!

Bob is the man. 2 days after I ask for what I need it is in my mail box. I usually do order a bunch from him to justify shipping, but just this week I bit the bullet and sent him $9.00 for a $2.00 bridge rectifier ($7.00 shipping); got it yesterday. :)

I used to try to build up an order, but my orders lately have been few and far between so I just order what I need. I wants what I wants, and I wants it now! ;) But back when I was getting new games more quickly and I was ordering more stuff, I inevitably forgot one item too. 2 or 3 times I've had orders that followed a big order by just a day or two. Gotta hate it when that happens!

Just placed an order yesterday and here's the response I got from Bob last night...

We pulled an all-nighter & got out an extra 151 packages using 3 POs, but unfortunately, yours was on the tail end & won't ship until tomorrow.
An extra 151 packages?!?! I knew he worked hard but dang! If that's just the extra I'd like to know what the entire package count was for yesterday! And how does he pull an all nighter when he seems to normally only get like 3 hours a night???

What a terrible day it will be when he decides to call it quits. I sure hope someone half as awesome takes over his business.

Yeah it takes longer, there is no doubt. I asked him flat out yesterday if it was working for him, because I could quit if it wasn't.
He said it was perfect.
before I would place an order, forget to get a check from my wife. then I have to get money from my "personal funds" and put it in the household account, big nightmare.

I use Billpay and Bob seemed happy with it. The billpay check seems to arrive within 1 day of me getting my package. Sometimes its the day before, or the day after, but last couple of times its the same day.

Yeah, I load up on parts I "think" I'll need in the near future from Bob. The closest electronics store is 2 hours away from me. Ordering from Bob is more convenient and 99.9% of the time he has what I'm looking for.
Thanks Bob for everything if you happen to look in this forum.

i keep a text file on my pc labeled "Bob Roberts" in it i have a list of high priority needs and low priority, this way i can order all the high priority stuff and then add a couple things from the low priority one.

I should have bought stock in his MK/NBA sound board harnesses and volume pots because every one of my orders in the past 5 have included atleast one....

I've bought a bunch of the different tools he has they're all great! (except the security bit set, i broke mine on the 2nd machine i used it on). I have his plastic monitor adjustment tool kit, solda-polt, molex crimpers, flexo-lite cutters ect...

I do the exact same thing, but not just for Bobby's site, it's just a huge list of NEEDS first, repair stuff, supplies.

Then I have a list of WANTS.

I do need to get on Bob's page this weekend. I'm going big with 3 Sanyo Cap Kits and a WG kit, have to double-check the monitor.

Meh. That's all I have to say. It's not that much work, shipping companies pick up, and 4$ to ship something that small is asinine any way you slice it. It ain't gold leaf.

As has been argued to death here before, the seller could be selling his pubic hair and shipping it via a sandwich bag: you are still paying for his time + materials + shipping. If you don't agree, you should not buy.

As for Bob, I always look around for stuff to buy more out of necessity than saving on shipping. :) He always treats me really well.

The date that BofA tells me is usually the date he gets it and deposits it. So from issuing the payment online, it is usually only about 4 days for him to actually get it and deposit it and me to see it online. It is about the same as if I mail one, but I don't have to. No envolope, no stamp, no check...

I do the billpay thing to bob as well through chase. At first I was concerned that he would mistake the check for some kind of junk mail but the times ive done it so far he's always gotten the checks.

Due to his cross shipping i have no problems writing a check and putting it in an envelope with a stamp. I still have the checks that i was first given when i opened my first bank account and thanks to Bob I'll actually put them to use. Kinda gives me that old time-y feeling using snail mail. My order is normally here a day or two before my check gets to him.

Thanks to this thread I just added another $100+ worth of items to my text file...

btw i'm 30 and i've had a checking account since i was 15 i think i'm up to check #2XX, the last 8 checks i've written are all to Bob.

29 here, I also dodged the majority of check-writing. I've probably only written a couple hundred as well. My mom was writing checks everywhere until about a year ago when I forced her to get a card.

I ordered parts from bob for 10 years and put up with the mail order crap when the bad blood with bob and paypal went down. My final order to bob was when the mail system chewed my money order up and bob refused to pay a couple bucks to get it notarized so I could it reimbursed from the bank. I aalrady sent a new money order so he could get paid. Paypal has come very long way since bob quit them. It's. Time to suck it up and get with the times. I will never send a MO agaln. Rant off.
