I actually have a few of them...

good to know! my k7193 has at least 1 bad cap and needs a good cleaning, i also know it's been worked on at least twice so god knows what the underside of the board looks like as i haven't removed it.

It's still working so i'm not in a huge rush but within the next month or so i was going to start looking for a clean replacement. could you post some pics of your rebuilt ones? I'm sure i know the answer to this but how much of them do you replace (hot, flyback, full cap kit) and do you hose em down (dishwasher/some other thorough cleaning)?

I added another board (Willow) and marked some items sold.

I recap them, replace the flyback, check for cold solder, and then run a 24 hour "burn in" test. I have never had, or had a report of, a VR or HOT fail after my testing (with the notable exception of improperly installed chassis) so I do not routinely replace them. However, more than half of my chassis have new HOT's and about a quarter of them have new VRs because these components were found failed. I also replace quite a few fuse holders for the same reason.

Normal cleaning method is to throw them in the dishwasher, unless there is a rush to get it returned; I don't like to power up a board for a few days after it leaves the dishwasher.

i pretty much figured that would be your answer, pretty much complete overhaul. i'll definitely be talking to you in the future about this, great deal!

Which version is the DK Jr bootleg? There's several different ROMsets. One uses the Japanese level order (and should have 11,800 as the high score with 10 initials), there's some with the US ROM's (will say Nintendo of America on the title screen). There's also one called "Donkey King Jr" and another called "Junior King", that will show up with those titles on the title screen.

I'll have to plug it in again to check, but I think I gave you this info once before. I think it uses the US ROMs, I know it is not a King Jr or Junior King.
