Got these as Crazy Kong boards... I pulled off the EPROMs that were socketed and ran them through ROMIdent... no matches found.

I know where the +5 and GND lines are, but I haven't looked into finding the video signals yet.

Would love any tips as to what they are, or if they are Crazy Kongs, where I can find the pinouts for them (not on CrazyKong.com).

Yeah, looks like Falcon pinout to me too. The first 4 are tied together, then the next 2 are tied together, then a few pins down, 2 more are tied together. Both of my CK boards that have the Falcon pinout look just like that. One board I had I was able to read all the EPROM's (1 didn't show up in romident, but it's a slightly different version that's not in MAME, so I expected that. The ROM plays when I run it in MAME like it does on the board). One board is running Falcon CK Part 2, but has a bunch of 2500's and my reader doesn't do 2500's, so I haven't tried that one (it works like it should anyway). I recently got an Orca board (with the Orca pinout) from RareHero, and some of the ROM's came up in romident, but some gave me about 3 or 4 different checksums while reading them, but the game comes up ok when I actually power up the board. Will be interesting to see what version that board is running. Post some pics if you get it going :)

I checked it out today... I had it hooked up to my ghetto little 13" monitor to see if anything was coming out... and I'll be damned... it works.

Granted, there is no audio (atleast in attract mode), but I think even if gameplay you can rule that out (look at the audio section of the board).

The game seems to have a weird attract mode... or I'm just too used to the Falcon version... I'll drag my good monitor over to the cab in a little while and check it out on there.

When I say weird, I mean for Crazy Kong... the attract mode seems to be right on par with a Donkey Kong... I'll get a video up in a little bit.

Before I do much of anything else... I think I'll dump the ROMs just to be on the safe side.

Looks like the Alca bootleg (as it's called in MAME). The Orca board I got from RareHero looks just like that. Only Falcon Crazy Kong part 2 has the Falcon cage scene in the attact mode, if that's what you're looking for (there's a couple of bootlegs also with it, with the Falcon logo/name removed, like the Jeutel bootleg) It's interesting none of the ROM's came up in romident. I don't know how your burner software works, but does it give you a checksum when you read them? Did you try reading each one more than once? (like I mentioned in the other post, some of mine didn't always read the same each time on the ones from the Orca board) Just out of curiosity, did the pinout work out the same as a Falcon pinout?
In case you don't have MAME running, here's a couple screenshots of the Alca bootleg for comparison.

Yeah, I read each one several times on my EMP-20. I ran the images through RomIdent, came up with nothing. BUT, I don't think Crazy Kong does a ROM check, so they could be corrupt, but still good enough to run "correctly"... until you finally run across the bad code... who knows. I'll try to get the monitor in that cabinet fixed again (no ISO in there so I keep blowing the bridge). When I do, I'll play it a little to see how far it'll go before it boo-boos.

Okay... replaced the bridge on the monitor (again) and played it for a few minutes (120K, not too bad considering I can't point press).

Runs through all the levels fine, but there are some minor glitches that pop up and build up as you play through the levels.

This one's a doozy too... on the "springs" stage the elevators don't run constantly... you get 3 on one side, then they stop and you get 3 on the other, then they stop, then back and forth... the fireball seems to be timed to them as well, VERY tough.

I really wish there was an audio section on the board (no sounds)... if there was I'd just slap and ISO in the cabinet and put it out to play... but no sounds kills it for me.

That's strange, the board has no audio at all? No AY-3-8910 chip? From your description of the Elevator board, is this what it looks like? (first 3 pics, which were taken from the Alca bootleg in MAME, since that's what the youtube video of your PCB looked like). Anyway, if that's what you're describing, that's normal Crazy Kong behavior. On the down elevator, the missing ones are actually there, and you can ride them (that's what the 4th pic is, from the Crazy Kong Part 2 romset, with Mario riding on the invisible one)

Ohhhhh... okay, that's much better then (the elevators).

Yeah, there's an AY-3-8910, but no amp, volume control, etc etc... it really doesn't look like they were ever there.

I know, old thread, but got some new info, if you still have these boards Scucci. Just recently picked up 2 boards that look just like those. One has MTD-2 and MTD-2B stenciled on the boards, and says "Donkey King" on the title screen, but is otherwise Crazy Kong (with the green colors on the barrel board, like yours). It also has the audio amp section on the board. I also just got another one in the mail today that has KCK-01 on one of the boards (with a Falcon logo next to it). This one is like your Crazy Kong too, although it looks like someone replaced the color PROM's (Mario has yellow clothes and a blue face and some other colors in the game are different). Anyway, this one has no audio amp section on the board, but came with an extra little add-on board wired in with an audio amp and pot on it. Did you ever figure anything out with an audio amp? I can take pics of mine if you need it.
