I just got a Mortal Kombat board in, but I'm a little concerned about the originality of it. I got no documentation with it, so I'm just going by what I can find on the web. Crazy Kong has a picture of MK as a 2 board set. The one I just picked up is a single board, and nowhere on it does it have anything (Midway, Mortal Kombat, or anything in terms of manufacturing) screen printed on it. It has some other little oddities too, like one of the chips has a pin pulled out of the board. It looks intentional though as it's one of the center pins, and it's bent well up and over the chip. I'm also concerned about the Jamma edge connector for this. The pins all line up, but there's no key slot. I don't think they use pin 7 on it, but still kinda odd. I'm mainly concerned because I got this for someone else, and I don't really want to misrepresent. I'm also not sure how to wire it. I think there's supposed to be a kick harness with this game to accommodate the extra buttons that Jamma doesn't cover. I've got 2 extra jacks (probably supposed to be a row of header pins, but previous owner just hardwired to the board) but I'm not sure which pin is which. Anyone have any incite into this board?

Boot for sure. The original pcbs had the key on the JAMMA edge. That alone makes it a boot. I have an original and a prototype pcb and they both have the key.

dang. I had a feeling. I'm sure the guy I'm selling it to won't be able to tell the difference, but none the less, I feel shady for doing it and shitty trusting a fellow KLOV'ers word without at least getting a picture.

Just realized you can't really make out the Jamma connector from the glare. trust me though, no key to be found there.

Im pretty sure thats the yawdim bootleg. Midway backwards. Its ok but the game sounds are a little screwy. Its definatly bootleg though. The original pcb's look nothing like that.

crap. Now a question of ethics... Do I tell the guy or let him figure it out on his own? Or does the "rarity" of this boot make it more desireable? To be fair, he was rocking a Double DK board in his Donkey Kong cabinet. He had no idea it had been hacked, so odds are he'd never figure it out.
