Can anyone tell me the correct speaker(ohms) for a Battlezone cabaret? Mine has an 8 ohm speaker in it, and it sounds like crap. I took it out and it LOOKS in ok shape, not visually damaged or anything. I have a 4 ohm replacement speaker; but was advised not to put that in(can't go lower in ohms). How can you really tell if the speaker is blown? Or better yet, where can I get a replacement speaker? Thanks in advance....

Battlezone Cabaret manual, page 27:
Part 148001-001, 6x9-inch 4-Ohm 15-Watt Oval High-Fidelity Speaker

In case anyone needs this info in the future. I confirmed that the full size upright cab uses the same oval speaker according to the manual. (6 x 9-lnch 4-0hm 15-Watt Oval High-Fidelity Speaker).

I'm wondering if the sound going the the oval 6x9 is crossed over on the sound board or on the speaker. If I get a 2 or 3 way 6x9 I'm wondering if I should snip out wires for the tweeter/midrange.

gorfchampion,
Did you have any luck with the 4-Ohm speaker you replaced it with.

Additional note: I just added a cheep 6x9 4-Ohm speaker from Walmart and it works great. I cut the tweeter/midrange wires and then unscrewed it from the main speaker. This left me with just the single 6x9 sub.
