This is a new machine for me. Bought it in non-working condition. The solenoid fuse immediately blows (1A SB). Common sense would dictate that I disconnect all solenoids and connect them one at a time BUT they are all soldered in. Is there an easy way to check them (i.e. put a meter on them or something)? Thanks!

Yes. All the coils should have some sort of resistance reading. Usually somewhere around 3-4 to 25-30 ohms. Anything that reads a dead short, it's a giveaway.
