I was wondering if anybody can help me out with a question. If I had a 2 player blitz 99 game, is there any way I can convert that into a 4 player? Im really new to this and dont know. Could I do that to the same game or would I need another PCb board? What steps would I need to do, or can somebody point me in the right direction? Thanks

If I remember correctly you can run player one and two from the jamma edge connector on regular 8-way joysticks (assuming the 8-way dipswitch is set). I do not think you can go 4 player without the supplemental I-40 board, optical sticks and various harnesses needed to connect it all up. I'll take a look when I am at lunch today at mine.

I dont really take the game seriously, i just thought when friends come over we can play 2 on 2. Hey jigz, is urs a 4 player?

I actually have Blitz 2000 Gold. But both use the same hardware (Midway Seattle) just different roms and hard drive image. My setup is 4 player using the I-40 board and 4 optical sticks (49 ways).

It's my understanding that (at least for optical sticks) you must have the I-40 board in order to handle all the inputs for 4 players.

There is a dipswitch to choose between regular 8-way and 49-way optical sticks. With it set to 8-way I know that players 1 and 2 go through the regular JAMMA edge connector but am not sure if it's possible to add players 3 and 4 without the I-40 board.

Do you know if you have regular 8-way sticks or optical?

Well i havent bought it yet.. a guy in my area is selling one. But it has a wide control panel as if it used to be a 4 player or something. He says it plays 100% and he would give it a 10 out of 10. Side art would need help and also the cab but thats it. And he has it for a great price thats why im thinking bout gettin it. Ill post pics of the control panel later today.

Hes got it for $400.. Im gonna try to get him down to $350...

Good price, Just looked at one here locally, they wanted $650, the joysticks were unresponsive and the monitor had a wave, and was kind of dim....I passed on even making an offer...:(

Looks like im not gonna get that blitz after all. I just bought a great condition NBA Jam TE 4 player for the same price. Couldnt back out on this deal. Plays excellent, cab just needs a little touch up and needs a control panel overlay. Thats about it. So cant get the blitz yet, Ill still be looking for one in the future.

Great choice on the NBA Jam TE!

Thanks.. Yeah when I saw it on CL I called the guy right away.. He said one other guy called for it and was suppossed to go by but never did.. So I snatched it..

If that's the vegas boardset then you can upgrade the game to blitz/nba showtime. I have the blitz/showtime at work that I setup on freeplay. I see it get played with 4 players all the time. It's not my favorite game but its been played over 4000 times in the last 6 months in the break room.
