I have a blitz/showtime combo that has a power issue. When I turn on the game the light and monitor comes on but the power supply does not boot the boards. I have 118 volts coming into the plug below the power supply but have nothing going to the power supply? What do I need to do to fix my problem?

Do you have +5 volts? The ps will still generate 120v even if it is bad and won't supply 5 volts.

there's a multitude of problem areas with this particular game.

I say first order of business is to pull the JAMMA harness off the board and inspect the smaller side of the JAMMA edge. are two of the contacts burned up at all? the other thing is that the power supply is probably original, I won't go as far as to say it's bad, but they're prone to the +5 adjustments getting oxidized which in turn triggers the overcurrent protection on the power supply, resulting in it appearing dead. there's a fix for this, but I don't encourage doing it with your board, and I doubt you have the tools or means necessary for putting the proper load on it to test the +5 output voltage with the JAMMA harness disconnected.

if you want more details, PM me.

Jamma harness edge connector is great. I tried another ps but still nothing. There is a plug in from the outlet to the bottom box below the ps that goes into a sliver box, that is all good. I assume the wires split from there but the black and white going to the ps has no power. Does that black box go bad?

Thanks for the help

new pic

Game worked fine until this happened. I actually got it to work once when i turned it on. Loose wire?

This is the box underneath the ps!

let me get this straight.. you've tested for incoming AC voltage to the power supply and are saying you got nothing?

I would inspect the AC wiring going from the power block to the power supply. particularly check the connector, make sure no pins slid out or anything... that's kind of a reach, but just check it anyway.

that particular power assembly either everything will work (monitor, marquee, power supply) or nothing will, cause they're all tied into the same source. only problem point would either be A) bad wiring going from the block to the power supply or B) the power supply is just bad.

if you want to I'd say remove the power supply and power block and bring them to me at work later. I don't remember exactly what plugs into the block but I think there's one main connector that ties to the power switch (which you won't need) and all the grounds are attached to a lug and the monitor, marquee and power supply connectors all come off another connector.
